Jason Timpf discusses Jonathan Kuminga’s dominating preseason for the Golden State Warriors and why he might be the role player that helps Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green return to playoff glory.

Kuminga might see it brighter with Moody. They walk step by step, side by side. They complete each other and even Moody took great steps in development. The sage with the warrior
i have more faith in kuminga as the next star to build around after steph/klay/dray. he has good shooting, he is physically fast and is pretty tall. whoever the warriors go with after the big 3. its a whole lot better than building around poole.
Warriors greatest enemy? Turnovers
Jk gotta stop acting like jp.. if you watched no last season and have been watching jk this preseason you know what I mean.
Kum Growth 🤭
2:22 nuggets not lakers lol
Could you post the highlights of the plays your talking about when you talk about what move a player did on the court to show exactly what your talking about
How bout that hard jab and right cross on grandpa Bron. Kuminga was literally eye to eye with the rim 💨 💥
IM CALLING IT RN HE WILL BE ONE OF THE BEST 2 WAY PLAYER IN FIVE YEARs.
Good analysis, but I think you're downplaying Saric a bit. He's an average defender, not bad, so he'll have problems w/Jokic, Zion, etc. Hell, even the "great" Anthony Davis got his ass kicked by Jokic.
Hopefully, Saric's shooting, passing, IQ, and floor-stretching will compensate for his defense. Isn't that a main idea of a stretch big? And, team fit is very important. I think Saric fits the Warriors nicely.
Why did you put us in 6th and then 3 pre-games later prop up KumBuckets like hes the next? You didn't even mention CP3, why talk about the importance of transition plays from last year when clearly CP3 is one of the best shots creator for himself and others in a half court setting. I think your biggest problem is you think a big athletic guy that knows how to play basketball is always gonna be better than those who plays a different style and might not be your tradtional athlete. The truth is, this ain't the Olympics. This is a team sport with a lot of variations of skills and positions or level of stamina besides physical tools. The bottom line, this is a league where the top talents plays, don't underestimate the amount of special, think outside the box players in this world of 8 billions people. It is usually those who does it their own way that becomes legendary.
Thats cp3 move it was a insane move cp3 gonna get jk to the next level let's gooooo dubs 💪
You sound like you've been watching a lot of Unc lmfao
Gotta talk about Moody, too. Year 3 leap for both of those guys
Talking about Kuminga in the playoffs is premature. There is a lifetime between now and the playoffs. Let's get through all star break first. Let's see how the team plays together during real games. Let's pray everyone stays healthy etc.
Too old, too small, blah blah… They’ve out rebounded in every game so far, JK is an all star in the making, and Steph and Klay are still the best shooting backcourt in the NBA. Wiggins is a lot more aggressive, they have a stretch big in DS, and last but not least, they fixed their biggest problem with CP3… Surviving the non Steph Curry minutes.
Playing Moody over GP2 in game 4 against the Lakers lost the game and series.
This idiot say 4-5 year for Kuminga to be an allstar? Try next season. If he wasn't playing with the Warriors his first 2 seasons he would be definitely around 18ppg or above. Kuminga is going to make it very hard for the Warriors because he will become better than Dray and Klay. So who comes off the bench if everyone is there?
I think the biggest takeaway feom the preseason is how Kerr and Kuminga’s relationship on the court has grown. Late in the Kings game Kuminga either had a bad foul or turnover and instead of Kerr talking to him and hanging his head, there was clear eye contact and Kerr really looked to be teaching and hyping up Kuminga. Kerr seems to have fully bought into Kuming and Kuminga seems to have fully bought into how he has to play if he wants the prominent role he’s been wanting
A more aggressive Harrison Barnes. That's all the Ws need. Wiggs is more a 2/3 on defense. Kuminga needs to defend 3/4s.
HB was extremely versatile on defense. He defended wings and players like Zack Randolph at times.
Jonathan Cope-minga might even help them get to the second round
Men you are so underrated. I agree on almost all your point. I'm just happy that my warriors are playing happy basketball again.
Most Improved $51AUD
Kaminga has improved alot over the summer but im actually keeping an eye on trace jackson davis he has in my opinion been beter than pods out of the rookie class this year he might be what we needed down low around the rim for protection and put backs
No one is noticing the year warriors win championship against Boston they didn't loose any game in they pre-season nd this is looking similar 🎉 dubs babe strength in numbers
Lakers in 5
Let’s be honest about what the warriors are doing. I’m tired of the BS the media wants them to do instead of what they are actually doing.
The warriors have really tried to shore up their perimeter play on both sides of the ball. Which I think does more for their success than getting more SIZE. Everyone wants a solution for jokic and there isn’t one. The most successful I’ve strategy seems to be limiting him
