Is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope approaching his peak, at his peak, or past his peak?

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was a perfect fit with the Denver Nuggets starters last season and they’re running it back. Have we already seen KCP’s peak or is the best still ahead of us? Plus what are our bold predictions for KCP this season?

  1. Sometimes I feel like KCP is underrated. He carried 1 or 2 playoff games and there was 1 game against the timberwolves I think, where he and I think Jokic were the only ones who had it going and still it took the nuggets until the 3rd or 4th quarter to make plays for him.

Is he past his prime? Idk.
Can he have a better season? Yes.

  2. – Holy smokes. Vogt is a Ron Swanson clone.
    – Ron is right. KCP is in middle of his prime.
    – His 15mil a year deal is ending after this season. Will he be overpriced especially when they win? Hell definitely get 22-25mil offers. Can we afford that with Jamal coming up?

  3. KCP at his peak, but production will drop as some minutes in a shift to younger guys. He has a player option next summer, and a number of teams will give him a substantial raise for what he brings towards championships.

  4. Here's a hot take that I don't think will actually happen, but is a fun thought experiment; I think he could get traded. The Nuggets are overloaded at the 2 guard, and if Strawther can solidify his defence, or Braun improve his 3pt shooting, either could be a sufficient replacement in the starting line up. KCP has enough value and contract size to it to get someone like Bruce Brown to run the second unit and be productive with the first, especially if you pair it with Reggie's contract and then a developing talent like Payton. Like I said, I don't think it will actually happen, but if things are really disastrous with the second unit, I wouldn't write it off.

  5. I compared KCP to Zach Lavine on stats. They’re very close. KCP has slightly lower numbers but he also isn’t the first option. I truly believe if KCP were in Zach’s shoes, he would be at the same level and be an All Star.

  6. KCP is savage…pure savage! I don’t see why no one sees his skills…but as long as we win all is good! All the Nuggets are good!😅
