He’s looked fine on defense so far. He’s not going to light the world on fire, but at the very least he’s engaged and moving where he’s supposed to. It was probably just an effort issue in GSW because of their chemistry issues.

Poole played good defense tonight
He’s not wrong. You could see some of that tonight. Scoring explosively but not necessarily playing winning basketball possession in and out. But what is true is that Tyus is going to make Poole better this season because he puts passes in pockets and with the timing where they’re comfortable. He’s a great player to have next to Poole. Kuzma is too because while he can often take bad shots, he’s not a selfish player and will find Poole and is a solid passer in his own right. Even Bilal can pass….Wizards have quite a bit of ballhandling/passing in their starting 5.
Impact wise, whether it adds up to an All Star is TBD but he was getting to the rim tonight. People tend to forget to acknowledge his ballhandling abilities. He isn’t a non-passer either. Teams are gonna play him for the 3 so he’s gotta counter that by attacking the paint. His transition 3 is a weapon that teams will have to close out on. The Knicks didn’t do so.
