Lauri Markkanen was the NBA’s most improved player last year. David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider doesn’t think he is done yet. Currently, ranked 31st in the NBA rank on the Ringer Locke thinks Markkanen can finish the season in the top 15 before this year is done.
Who are the other players that could make this jump? LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, Desmond Bane, Franz Wagner, Donovan Mitchell or Jamal Murray.
It is time to be nice to Walker Kessler. The 2nd year Jazz center is ranked 90th in NBA players and there are 22 centers in the NBA ranked in the top 100. Playing center in the NBA Is the hardest position out there.
Locke shares his points gained on the East and surprisingly Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks both come out badly. Whereas the Chicago Bulls and the Indiana Pacers come out well

What NBA Player do you think will take the biggest jump this year
Good mormimg
what about the tht trade r
Kris dunn,
Go jazz
Jordan Poole
What stats does he need to achieve to get to 15? 28 pts 8 reb and 2 assists enough?
You have interesting system how to rank offence, i try remember these and look after season how accurate that prediction was. No matter is those accurate or not, its something interesting to see how it play out.
Walker Kessler is a special player with a super power of blocking shots with either hand. Kessler is top 5 centers in the NBA by end of the year. As for his pre-season, he is doing what is expected.
Locke, I have a question about Points gained. You may have explained this before, and I listen to most of your podcasts, but may have missed it.
If Giannis is a +1.4, and Beasley is a -1.4, (I don't know if I have those numbers right) would they actually cancel each other out? Are the plus and minus based on a set number of shots, or are they based on the number of shots that player takes in a game? If the latter is correct then Giannis takes more shots, so overall they would still be a positive together…?
THT is only 22 and people already giving up on him lol not surprising tho it always happens people have no pacience. We've seen it over and over players dont have big jumps til mid 20s yet people still give up too early
Bron ruins players careers doesnt make them better. Its all about him and his stats.
I dont think theres that much more to Lauri's ceiling honestly. Maybe 27 or 28 ppg but I dont see where he will have some big leap in passing/playmaking which is what would need to happen.
I don't entirely understand points gained . For instance say the Bucks, wont the majority of their possessions be scored by Giannis, Dame, Brooke L , and Middleton was hurt last year so I'm assuming he hasn't always been a negative percentage player.
I could see Markkanen jumping most of those players you mentioned, except for Edwards, I think he's on the verge of being top 10.
Im sorry Locke but your numbers (points gained) are lying to you, and they dont take in account of which players utilize the most time of possession for their respective teams nor do they factor in defense.
Yesterday we didn't talk about 'who is going to make the biggest jump'. The question was, 'who would be thought of differently at the end of the year?'. Unfortunately Locke answered that question with 'who is going to make the biggest jump'. Different questions.
I think your numers are broken on Milwaukee. 😂
Kessler is awesome and improving
