How the OKC Thunder Plans to SHUT the NBA Down

#NBA #OklahomaCityThunder #NBAhighlights #NBAnews

The OKC Thunder are the best young team in the NBA right now. Chet Holmgren has finally shown what he can do on the court as seen with his showdown against Victor Wembanyama. But aside from Holmgren, the Thunder already have a first-team all-NBA caliber player in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, as well as young potential stars in Jalen Williams and Josh Giddey. But what is a realistic ceiling for the Oklahoma City Thunder? The answer might lie in the Thunder’s defensive identity which Chet Holmgren will further strengthen.

The Thunder still have roster decisions to make after trading Victor Oladipo for Kevin Porter Jr. but this OKC team is one of the most exciting teams in the league. Sam Presti has assembled the best young core in the NBA, but OKC also has the biggest collection of draft picks in league history. Now with new players like Vasilije Micic and Cason Wallace, as well as returning players like Aleksej Pokusevski, Kenrich Williams, Isaiah Joe, and Jaylin Williams, can the Thunder get to top of the Western Conference and beat teams like the Nuggets, Suns, Warriors, or Lakers?

The NBA preseason has shown what the new look OKC Thunder are capable of and it’s not just Chet Holmgren vs. Victor Wembanyama matchup that is worthy of excitement for the new season. James Harden trade to the Clippers, Damian Lillard to the Bucks, Jrue Holiday to the Celtics. But let’s look into why the OKC Thunder’s defense will make them one of the best teams in the NBA.

  1. I honestly think OKC could be top 5 both offense and defense next season.. Chet makes that much difference on both ends of the floor. Shai could be MVP if OKC makes the top 4 in the West

  2. great video! and well explained, i know SGA gets a lot of respect and attention. I think Josh Giddey should get more respect and attention, he is the floor general he runs the offence and finds his teammates with laser passing. He is the glue that binds this team together.

  3. Excellent take! And the puzzle is still incomplete as Ousmane (20 years) Poku (21) and especially Cason Wallace (19) are still pieces prepared to fit in. And very possibly Donovan Clingan might be available next year if the Thunder get the Rockets’ lottery pick next year.
