Its safe to say Mike Wilson is…EASILY IMPRESSED! Listen, Wemby is a skilled big man, with a European game, who happens to be 7 foot 4, with some guard skills and a decent jump shot. We've seen big men with guard skills and jump shots and passing skills before…there's this guy named KEVIN DURANT…you might of heard of him. When Wendy has done a HUNDREDTH of the things KD has done in his career come talk to me…and I may take notice. Let's see if he's all world after a season or 2 playing professional ball and people get a blueprint on how to play against him. Let me see him adjust. Till now he's just good hype.

Just because he’s able to make a 3 pointer doesn’t mean he’s Kevin Durant. He hasn’t shot a great percentage and he looks awkward. Of course, he’s a good FT shooter so he should be able to develop consistency from 3. But not there yet.
There are some disadvantages to being that tall, especially being that thin. Guys with more weight and lower center of gravity will be able to keep him out of the paint.
Lastly, it scares me when he sets screens, because defenders are running into his knees a lot.
Obviously a great prospect, but I think everyone needs to chill out a bit.

There’s a gap between unaware & senility. It was not an “exhibition” game, it’s preseason—there’s a difference. Lotta guys are FIGHTING for roster spots or starting slots or rotation minutes. An “exhibition” is like a charity game. These preseason games have all been competitive & there’s no reason to think he’ll play any different in the regular season. The next skeptical line of junk will be, “Oh Wemby did that in the regular season, but can he do it in the playoffs?” Etc. Amazing how ESPN lays off all these great guys like Jalen Rose but keeps relics like Kornheiser who isn’t even aware enough to know the NBA bought the TV rights to Wemby’s French league games & broadcast them all, including the playoffs. BTW, Pop had ZERO problems w/that nutmeg play & people are going to be surprised how much free reign Wemby gets. The coach that harangued Parker relentlessly was a 5th year coach who was nearly replaced in ‘99–the Pop of now is a HOFer legend w/the largest coaching contract in NBA history and tenure until they wheel him off to the old folks’ home. This Pop coaches differently.

People forget that he has already played with grown men in the Euro league much like Luka did before entering the NBA. He’ll be more prepared than people think much like Luka given the league is much softer physically than years ago.
