I'm not sure if the framing of the conversation is quite right?
– Is Troy Weaver on the hot seat? Maybe but, that's a weird take.
– Troy Weaver has made some weird trades? Yeah, it seems that way at first glance. But, why not take a gamble? What's the risk? His job? That's why I believe job security isn't Weaver's motivation.
Weaver has emphasized doing things the "right" way and not trying to chase wins. If it takes 4-5 years to do build something, that's a small price to pay. Compared to Stan Van Gundy and Joe Dumars' running of the Pistons, I actually see sound reasoning behind Troy Weaver's actions.
Just looking at wins and losses and stats won't allow for a fair assessment of Weaver's role as GM. He's trying to build something that will last compared to chasing wins as with previous management. Chasing after guys like Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Josh Smith, and Blake Griffin placed the Pistons in a state of hopelessness for almost a decade. I don't get that energy from Troy Weaver.
– Will the Pistons sniff 39 wins this season? As you've stated, the roster just has a lot of question marks as whole unit. But, I will count this season as a win if guys like Cade, Ivey, and or Duren have a breakout season. Just some signs that the Pistons have a definitive core to build around. That's the key I'll be looking for this season.
Too much talent to not win at least 40gms.. the east is weak AF, I'll take the young Pistons over the Heat, Raptors, Magic, Nets and Knicks, they ain't sh#t, the Pistons have a chance, believe me…
This series is entirely pointless. Cool if this is "fun" for you guys to make wild speculations and claims that have no factual basis. Cant believe you guys get paid for half ass "content" like this
