Kinda surprised they let Rudy Gay go so quickly, he seemed like the favorite to make the roster. Is everyone thinking that he’s going to be brought back soon?

It’s crazy. I’ve always wondered how does this go down. Like does Mike Dunleavy go to the Lockerroom with the team still there and tell them they’re being cut or is like how the NFL does it when we see it on hard knocks..
Eyes on Spurs, Washington, and Thunder roster cuts.. someone will slip through the cracks..Hopefully Stanley Umude from Detroit.. I think wing depth is a need more than big. I’m shocked Jerome wasn’t apart of this. Jermaine Samuels, Jack White, or Aaron Wiggins(but he’s only 6’4) .. I wonder what the spurs do with Sandro Mamu.. Also Anthony Gill, Xavier Cooks, and Gallinari, two are going to get the roster crunch..
Luxury tax savings is the 14th roster spot I guess. I’m surprised they didn’t change the loophole in the CBA where you can carry 13 players for almost 2 weeks at a time throughout the year.
They’ll prob re-sign Gay in a few weeks since it’s mandatory they enter the season with 14.
Did not see releasing Rudy coming. What are the strategic contract maneuvering reason(s) that I’m missing of releasing him now only to re-sign him in a few days or a week, if that’s hypothetically their thinking here? This isn’t a trying to retain G league rights situation.
Edit to add: also the hell is Jerome Robinson doing still missing from these announcements??

a long shot, but i really want aaron wiggins if he’s made available. would be a perfect young backup wing for the third two-way, wouldnt even hesitate to offer him a full roster spot.

Hopefully they keep Gay. I think he could really fill that Mo-buckets, need 4-6 points from the bench while Steph rests, role.

Is this why they held Rudy out the last 4 games? I assumed it was because he was hurt or looked washed, but maybe they were trying to avoid showcasing him to other teams?
What am I not seeing? Gay barely played and didn’t show anything too special. Why are people thinking he is coming back. They got plenty of vet voices.
