[Adrian Wojnarowski] San Antonio Spurs center Zach Collins has agreed on a two-year, $35 million contract extension, Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tells ESPN. Deal secures Collins through the 2025-2026 season.

Absolute fucking steal. Zachy is coming into his own as a defender and rebounder, can space the floor, and is a smart veteran presence on and off the court. Pairing him with Wemby is going to help take a lot of heat off of Vic over the next few years as he develops. My biggest concern with him was always his health but he was one of our most available guys last season and showed his value when he’s able to stay healthy.
Well deserved. I can’t wait to see what he does with a full year as the starter

He was the best player on the court for many games after the Poeltl trade – on both sides of the ball. He’s wildly underrated in my mind and the key to how well the offense has been playing so far, even despite Wembanyama. He can play the high post facilitator like Jakob did, pulls out the defense, can hit the three, and punish the post with a really terrific baby hook the way he abused Jabari Smith and Sengun vs. Houston. I can’t believe how good he’s become.
The FO is just running like a well oiled machine right now, it’s a beautiful thing to watch. Having Wemby doesn’t hurt either 😃
This is a really good deal considering he’s only 23 years old. Only someone with a better team friendly deal at his age is Time Lord who’s making 12 mill a year
