  1. Nesmith gave the Pacers a bargain, a thanks for giving him a big role in shaping the future team.

  2. If we draft them, we have to give them playing time, period. If we dont, they become Nesmith, Smith, Toppins for other teams. It would be very upsetting if we trade Walker before his rookie deal expires, because we had to play other guys we got from other teams who couldnt get minutes. That's counter productive and dangerous. Imagine trading Walker then he gets minutes and turns into player we hoped when we drafted him. Make sense?

  3. Needing to give TJ minutes really does obliterate contemplation over the rotation. It'd be pretty simple without him. But he's been good. People don't seem to understand that he contributes a LOT statistically to the team and winning. It's hard to tell if you don't watch the games, but even if you take a quick glance at metrics, he's weirdly in the top 10 or 15 for players in the NBA or bench in a LOT of categories. He's efficient, brings good energy, and is a great court leader.

We might even end up having an 11 man rotation just to give Walker some minutes. Just split the 4 duties between Toppin, Nesmith, and Walker or something. It's the weirdest depth situation I've seen where we have basically an entire team of dudes that could easily see real rotation minutes on nearly any team in the league.

Basically, I'm all for more rotation minutes discussion.
