Marcus Smart: “You always want to be where you’re wanted, and another team’s trash is another team’s gold. So I’m glad to be here,”“I’m glad to be on an organization that wants me and sees me (have) great value. So I’m ecstatic and I’m ready to get going.”

“If I’m being quite frank, I knew I would be traded eventually,” Smart said. “Just figured it would be the next season, just based off my contract and with the new CBA. We already knew that. But it was just the way it happened. I was told everything was good after asking multiple times. Like, ‘I’m hearing (rumors), what’s going on?’ And they’re like, ‘No, you’re good, you’re good, you’re good.’ And then when I do hear about the trade, it’s from Shams (Charania) on Twitter before I hear from the team.”

I hope it wasn’t Brad who gave this to Shams, Someone had to have leaked it in the front office

As professional as these guys are and making millions more than an average people, they can’t help but to feel somewhat unwanted after a trade. I mean they are people too with feelings.

As Celtics fans we always here for you Marcus!

Everyone feels some type of way when traded and considering how fiery Smart is, this is no surprise. But Stevens is one of the nicest guys in the sport, lets be real. Smart is just butthurt.

It sucks that every player who is drafted to Boston and maybe other teams but not the same way is that the moment they’re a member of this team is the first time people will discuss trading them. Mostly people outside the org but the voices are loud and plentiful and I imagine that uncertainty gets to anyone.

Some people from New England treat sports radio like a 5th sport and now those same type of people don’t have to wait on a phone line and be screened to get their absolutely horrendous opinions heard, they can go right to the source on social media and tell a player they suck.

As much as I respect Marcus and appreciated his time here, I can’t be more excited to start this season without him. I may get downvoted now because it’s still fresh, but you will all see in due time this dude has a pretty big ego for what his role is and the Jays will be better without him.

We stuck with him for one season too many, and just because Brad had to pull the trigger on a last minute trade at midnight he’s hurt he wasn’t given a heads up? Just like the whole Kyrie situation, it’s a business and at the end of the day players and teams do whatever benefits them the most. I’m also pretty sure if Brogdon got moved smart would still be here, so I don’t think it was their plan to trade him, he’s making it seem like Brad lied when in reality he just needed to make a quick decision.

He was here for 9 years. He was wanted. We love him and still do. But the NBA is a cruel business. Wish he was here still, but the team had to make moves to put their superstars in the best spot to win.

This is bullshit out-of-context pot-stirring from Jared.

If Marcus was really this upset at the Celtics, Brad and Wyc would not have been at his wedding. Marcus knows it’s just business and that the people behind the Celtics — and the fans — will always love him.

That’s why I hate it when Jared writes his off-floor stuff. The dude knows basketball if you watch his breakdowns.

But at the same time, he was also the main guy writing about Jaylen’s unpopular stances last year. Jay King stayed away from that stuff.

If a girl says she will be ready in 5 minutes she will. No need to remind her every 15 minutes about it

Brad is ruthless like Ainge, but not obsessed by winning trades.

Liked Marcus as a bench guy. Perfect for that. Not starter talent enough, and he views himself as one. Lots of pride, I respect that. But he wasn’t enough, and hurt as much as he helped. I hope one day to have him come back, like Al, and come off the bench as a vet leadership dude, and get a ring. But until then, our team is better this year than it was in years prior, and he’s a part of that.
