  1. VeryFarDown

How is this team still losing games off of missed free throws. Insane that they can’t seem to fix it.

  2. cjackc11

14/26 on FTs at home idgaf about the refs hit your fucking free throws and this isn’t even a game

  3. Yankeeknickfan

Our previous franchise player showed up and the 2 franchise players on the team today didn’t show up

Very pathetic game for both of them.

  4. Toxicyoshi7

Disappointing as fuck Loss but hey the refs basically gifted them 3 FT calls after they missed, we missed hella FTs, Brunson and Randle were off tonight. Our depth, offensive rebounding and defense still looks top tier. Shoutout IQ, completely robbed of 6th man of the year last year.

  5. solo118

Its all good, its game 1, we fought like hell but lost for dumb reasons. We need to do better on simple things like free throws.

Now….can we tamper with our own player? We need to lock in IQ on the down low internally as he absolutely proved himself in this 1st game

  6. Norby710

They’ll be alright. I don’t think I’ll ever be a thibs guy but shake it off. Another one Friday.

  7. fender9

8 less FT on the same attempts. Not much changed then.

  9. daniykim

Although that was a preventable loss, that was a wildly entertaining game against a stacked team

  10. swivel2369

12 missed free throws is the whole story.

  11. Doc and Doris both need to go cop a couple blunts and just chill the fuck out

  12. zOmgFishes

RJ gets benched for 5 mins in the 4th and IQ doesn’t get a shot for 5 mins so we can watch JB and Randle brick us out of the game.

  13. Chr1s678

Should’ve played IQ and Grimes more. Both Harts did good too

  14. ontheru171

We only have ourselves to blame.

But they need to make them run suicides for those missed FTs

  15. minecate3

Honestly not mad. If it weren’t for opening night jitters we should have beat one of the best teams in basketball, at full strength, where our two best had off games. We’ll be fine, relax.

  16. fishyfishy21

Not only did we miss 12 FTs the whole game. But Celtics shot 15 FTs in the 4th quarter

  17. jgangstahippie

We deserved to lose but imagine being called for flopping when being undercut by a defender.

  18. Substance8967

Inexcusable L bro team still can’t make fucking free throws

  19. thibs gotta be flipping out in the locker room

  20. JustSayin20101

Roughest game in a while. You know when jalen and Julius ain’t cooking we in trouble. Still we kept it close and in sure we will get back in rythm. Imo give iq more minutes jalen looks Hella gassed, clearly ain’t 100% yet. And fucking practise free throws for the 876th time.

  21. mattr1198

Sucks to lose, but lots to look forward to. RJ and IQ were excellent, but Brunson and Randle definitely need to play better than THAT. FTs too. Good fight against the supposed league best, but our two stars gotta shake off the rust quick.

  22. jerejeje

Top 3 worst things about this game

    1: Doris Burke

    2: Doc Rivers

    3: Free Throw Shooting

  23. Nykmarc

That was the title favorites we lost to. No shame.

But it sucks to see the same issues from last year rearing their head in game 1.

  24. warmongerz

Man when Randle is bad, he is just absolutely awful

  25. i_am_the_senate_

When you shoot free throws like a college team, you are going to lose

  26. gods_green_earth_

Brunson and Randle basically gave the game to Boston. Gotta make their shots and free throws.

  27. jordietb

Man that FG% is laughable from Randle and Brunson. Seriously.

  28. smallskeletal

“We’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas”- The Knicks starting off a new season still losing games on missed free throws

But shout out to IQ, RJ, and Grimes for carrying tn

  29. indreams159

11 for 43 from Randle and Brunson

    absolutely horrific

  30. QueAsc0

Mitch couldn’t guard KP, shot better from 3 than in the paint, and bad games from Randle and JB. Just too much mediocre play vs a really top heavy Celtics squad. RJ and especially IQ were bright spots at least. Quickley looked like our best player, and in for the best season of his career IMO

  31. smileyfrown

I can’t believe I’m saying this but a huge factor in the loss was JB taking the technical shot instead of RJ

RJ makes it it’s a 2 pt game and you don’t have to be so 3 pt dependent last 2 -3 plays

  32. NoScopeMusical

    – Tough way to start the season. Should’ve been a win. At least it’s only the first game. Jayson Tatum does what he always does, but a defensive-minded team letting Porzingis drop 30 points in 2023 is terrible.
    – ESPN’s awful commentary put me to sleep, literally. I miss Clyde.
    – The only Knicks that showed up on offense are Barrett and Quickley. Brunson was off, as was Randle. They shoudve been better, but I chalk that up partially to Boston playing great team defense.
    – Why can’t the Knicks hit a fucking free throw? You won’t win many games going 14/26 from the line. That’s why they lost.

  33. TheJiggie

    Free Throws… Free Throws… Free Throws….

  34. Metsopotamian

Gave that one away. And whoever thought Doc Rivers and Doris Burke would make a great sounding broadcast should be fired
