[Weiss] Jaylen Brown: “I think KP is the ultimate spacer, right, and if teams are going to keep guarding him like that, we’re going to keep encouraging him to shoot the ball. When (teams switch their coverages), people like me will be ready to take advantage of those matchups.”

Bro is salivating at the one on one slashes

I understood KP was a big who could shoot. Duh. But it’s more than that. His extra height (even for a center), his quick release, and his deep range combine to supercharge his impact on team spacing.

The players being on the same page about this stuff is a great sign

  4. I love this mindset if he can act on it. I actually thought what we saw from Jaylen last game was promising. He was trying to cut and move around without the ball a lot, even if it didn’t always work out, and the increased space let him make some good passes. Even a turnover he had on a difficult pass was a good sign. He saw the pass just not in time for it to be successful. To take advantage of all our talent on offense, off ball skills and vision for every player are so important.

JB has one bad game when they’ve hardly played together and people are quick to trash him but once this offense starts gelling we’ll be very dangerous

exactly. tatum is the fulcrum and the defense will dictate who else gets to feast on a nightly basis.

Even though I expect his half court opportunities to decrease, with the focus on more deflections and turnovers JB should COOK in transition. This team has every tool offensively

JB better wake up tonight that’s all I know

Now that brown has gotten paid my hope is he worried less about getting his numbers and more about just making the right play. It felt like he sometimes forced stuff last season

  10. JB should challenge himself to be the best defender on this team. He can be very effective off the ball too.

Teams won’t be able to pack the paint, strip drives, and over play passing lanes against them any more. The issues we’ve seen with turnovers against those zones should alleviate

Having KP drawing defenders in actions is going to solve a lot of issues. It will help the Jays become more consistent decision makers. Then you throw in Holiday and White.

Offensively the only thing they may need to do is to get those other guys going. Horford and White need to get a few shots so that they’re engaged at the end of games if needed. They may need to make a point of getting those looks

Tatum and Brown are still adjusting to the looks they will now get. We saw Tatum effortlessly attack the rim the other night at times. Brown was more hesitant. It will take time to know that the 2nd or 3rd guy won’t be coming and the space is open for them

Celtics need to make a point tonight. We need to exorcise the mental edge the heat have had on us.

Lol I don’t think he needs to be encouraged to shoot the ball? Also, he has better handles and court vision and is just an overall better offensive player than Brown and if anything Brown should be used as a spacer for him
