Now that Green signed an extension, the Dallas young core is Luka (24), Williams (24) Green (22), Hardy (21), O-Max (21) and Lively (19). 1 elite Ballhandler/Playmaker/Superstar, 1 good scoring guard, 3 3&D players and 1 P&R/rim protecting big… 6 guys under 25 who are highly talented and all under contract for at least 3 more years. Except Hardy, but Dallas has the restricted FA rights. So if they want to, they can match anything.
I watch the Mavs since the early 2000's. I cant remember a time when Dallas had that much young talent that fits together perfectly. Ad a true 2nd star in Kyrie and other role players for offense (Curry/THJ) or defense (Exum/DJJ/Maxi) and I do think a lot of people will be suprised in a couple of weeks. Let this team gel, and then see what is possible.
All I am saying is: Dallas was 16-18 untill the end of december in 2021/22 (new coach) and needed time to get the new system rolling. After that… 36-12 with a WCF run. This year we have a lot of new players to integrate into the system. Give it some time… and then just watch!

Sure Luka can score 40 any night he wants to, but the more he becomes a point guard, like his buddy Jokic, the farther his team will go. And with Kyrie and Luka they can win any close game at the end. Kyrie had a "bad" opening game but they still TCB.

Rather they won "barely" or by 20. We still see a better Mavs team then last year . They would have lost if it wasn't for Lively and Grant .Problem fixed . Way to go Mavs.

I am a mavs fan and watched the game. How can you possibly say "The Dallas Mavericks Are BACK" when they gave up 43 points in the first quarter and looked just like last year. Not only that but they had to come back and barely win against a team that was given a regular season wins number of 30.5 lol. They barely got away with a W against a bottom tier team that is nothing to get excited about. I hope they keep playing well I truly do but lets see how they play against good teams in the NBA first before you say "they are back"
