The OKC Thunder are poised for a big leap, due in large part to Chet Holmgren’s imminent emergence as a starting center. Throughout the NBA Preseason, Chet has looked fantastic alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey, and he just adds to the Thunder’s treasure-trove of young talent.
Chet Holmgren’s elite defense is of course exciting, but his ability to space the floor and operate as a tradition big at times is going to do wonders for OKC’s spacing, opening up the interior for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey to maximize their abilities to get to the rim.
Sam Presti has done a fantastic job surrounding SGA with talent, with Jalen Williams, Ousmane Dieng, Cason Wallace, and countless pieces that could be great for years to come. The OKC Thunder aren’t just gonna get good. They’re gonna get good fast.

Two players on OKC that are very slept on are Jaylin Williams and Isaiah joe. A lot of people don’t know, but they both went to the same high school and college and have a fantastic connection together. That coming off the bench is so incredibly valuable. OKC is so deep it’s crazy. Playing against them dudes together in high school was not fun 🤣

Chet is going to be a monster defender. With as long as he is, his closing speed is really deceptive. Overall he seems to have a high basketball IQ and he seems like a really hard worker. I think him and Wembanyama will have a great rivalry.
Hopefully we get some good playoff games with the thunder and the spurs ,like the good ol days.
