Jamal Murray the point guard, Zeke Nnaji the switch killer | DNVR Nuggets | The List

Jamal Murray closed out the Memphis Grizzlies behind a quick read in the PnR on the team’s final possession. Most people thought Murray would be gunning for more points as he aims to make an all-NBA team (and earn a supermax extension. But through two games, what stands out about Murray is his continued rise as an elite POINT GUARD. #JamalMurray #NikolaJokic #DenverNuggets

  1. I found a cool video talking about why the USA struggled in FIBA although their roster is full of highly paid talent. One important stat that he found is Reversals. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense and generates open looks. This is also a trademark of the best NBA offenses including the Denver Nuggets, but wasn't employed by the USA basketball team to a high degree, but by the teams they lost to.

Your examples illustrate that beautifully. Thanks for the analysis. I always like these videos.
By the way, the back and forth between Jokic and Reggie looks intentional. It creates the space for Reggie to drive.

Oh and for anyone who is interested:

  2. Watching this has made me realize how many guys Denver has that can be trusted with the basketball & run actions in comparison to previous years in the Jokic era. I'm so used to there being at least one guy delegated to the corner(s) for the entire possession. Not anymore.

  3. I want an MPJ 7/8 from three game so bad šŸ™ dudes clearly playing injured on that ankle. Seems like he should just take a game off

  4. Jamal should set screens more often. When he gets hit, he gets focused for some reason lol. Just a littttttle bit of pain for him to lock in.
