I guess we can only improve from here

  2. Southern_sky

There’s gonna be nights like this too for this young team. On to the next…

  3. Golfrop

Is there a low cost veteran point guard the spurs could trade for to help wemby’s development? You can do a lot off the court but doesn’t help if you can’t get the ball on the court

  4. gmoneydrums

IT’s analysis at halftime – “they’re gonna need to turnover less and shoot better”

  5. LucRichard55

I ain’t seen an ass pounding that bad since that Riley Reid pizza delivery video.

30 points allowed off 25 turnovers, while shooting 38% from the field. Yea, that’ll do it.

On the bright side, it’s still very early in the season.

  8. yeah_car

Lots of tape to watch! Just, the whole game lol. They’ll be alright.

How do y’all think they do at Arizona? Bounce back game or another spanking?

  9. blue-anon

    Welp, Tre had a neutral (0) +/- and Bassey had a +9. That’s something!

  10. Aussie_Spur

That was a prime time spanking. Onto the next one. We are gonna to have nights like this

  11. ktdotnova

From the opening tip, the Spurs were sloppy with the basketball and committed lots of turnovers. Many possessions were either marked by indecisiveness or one-on-one play making. Easy buckets for them were far and in-between.

The Clippers set the tone early with their physicality (crashing the glass) and securing 50-50 balls. Paul George spear-headed the effort, on both ends, in the first quarter as the Clippers jumped out to an early lead… a lead they added to and never gave up.

  12. Relatively_Cool_Guy

All around bummer. Tank 4 point guard of the future?

  13. I agree that Sochan as PG is not looking good so far

But even when he’s not doing PG stuff, he still didnt look good.

Im still very optimistic about him tho. He got the physical tools to be good

  14. VenomSpitter666

these are called growing pains my friends GSG!

  15. californeyeyay

Boys I didn’t get to watch tonight. What HAPPENED?!

  16. kunjacob

Those desolate wasteland game threads last year that could barely reach 100 comments seem like an oasis compared to this year’s with all the new nephews around

  17. someguyfromtecate

Let’s not forget that the Clippers with George and Leonard are legit title contenders, and this Spurs team is young, raw, and inexperienced. These type of games will happen a lot this season, so expectations need to be tempered this year.

  18. Datboy_98

That was a good reminder of just how far we need to go to get back to the top.

A proper lesson that the boys need.

  19. Yoyoboydog

Someone clip Sochan ignoring Wembys hand ASAP

  20. wrongerontheinternet

Wemby’s first game with a negative +/- since joining the Spurs. He can take consolation in the fact that he was far less negative than any of the other starters. As I said in the previous thread, it’s pretty clear that Tre Jones (the only non-negative player with at least 20 minutes) should be in the starting rotation.

  21. Prize_Possession3899

This always felt like it would be a tough game on the schedule, but giving all those points away on turnovers in the 1st quarter certainly didn’t help and jump-started the Clips even more.

Tough to play catch up from that point especially the way they were shooting.

  22. oceanfloors1

I called in the 1st we would get clapped by 40. It was 41.

  23. 1920sComedyAct

Imo the lineup should look like this

    PG Jones

    SG Vassell

    SF Osman

    PF Collins

    C wembanyama

    Bench.

    SG Johnson

    SF McDermott

    PF Sochan

    C Bassey

A few thoughts. Sochan at the point guard really isn’t working, and we just need to stop doing it before it gets worse. Doug should come off the bench. Last year, when he came off the the bench was nice. I am not a fan of these line-ups they need to change who’s ever idea this was needs to be fired.

  24. westlbj

Sochan looks uncomfortable and indecisive out there. I understand it’s only game 3 and there are other issues but “the experiment” so far is clearly not working.

  25. chadsylviaplath

three games into the season… ofc sochan isn’t going to look amazing right away. give him some time

  26. RokkintheKasbah

I thought about going to the game. Get in price was like $30 or less. Decided to be lazy instead. Super happy with my decision. 🙁

  27. Extreme-Transport

In case you were wondering that’s the most turnovers by a team this season

  28. rattatatouille

Youngest team in the league versus a team with championship aspirations. Keep the tapes for the film room sessions and move on.

  29. nokarmawhore

This is gonna be a long season, especially with no PG out there to run the show. Every game so far feels like they’re running out there like a headless chicken.

  30. romanJedi67

It’s still only one loss 😅. We’ll grow and learn from this. It’s interesting how Pop will limit Wemby’s time and let the rest of the team “figure it out” while they are behind on the scoreboard . It makes sense to me, Wemby is amazing. I wonder when they will pull the lever and get a seasoned veteran or All-Star player – we can definitely afford it. Either way, this will be a fun journey to watch. Go Spurs Go!!!!!!

  31. leoo88556

Young team on the road and all, but yeah that’s a pretty awful performance on both ends for the guys. Pop’s gonna need some throat lozenges for the upcoming film session. lol

  32. AccessEcstatic9407

I saw lots of Wemby passing to Zach down low. I feel like it should be the other way around. Won’t be effective until Zach starts hitting 3s I guess. Spacing was horrible tonight. Good learning experience though.

  33. msolelh1027

Expected this. I mean, we’re playing against Kawhi, PG, and Westbrook.

  34. Imaginary-Cycle-1977

Fuck me i was at the game

Idk how it looked on tv but beyond the sloppiness and terrible shooting, there was a glaring lack of effort + intensity from the jump. Collins and Sochan in particular were awful

Gotta think it was a let down after the Houston OT thriller and then maybe having too much fun in LA but I am really bummed cause that’s the only game I’m gonna catch this year
