Chris Paul on coming off the bench for the 1st time in his career: “It was different. A lot of it was, but once you get out there, now it’s hooping. It’s cool to be on a team where you’re free-flowing. Everybody playing & sharing the ball…It’s whatever I got to do to help our team win” (1:05)

1.3k games in a row as a starter and willing to snap that run for the team.

    I respect that CP

I think he’s realized being a bench player for the Dubs is different. He can have a starter-level impact while still coming off the bench and will still get all the love and respect from both the fans and the team.

I’ve been following CP3 since he was at Wake Forest.

Dude’s a serial winner. I was ecstatic when we got him.

Remember that Harden Rockets took us to game 7 and could’ve beaten us if CP3 didn’t get injured.

Sure he doesn’t have a ring but he’ll get one now. 💍

I really hope we see more of this, even mostly this. Assuming good health, it’s really hard to improve on Steph, Klay, Wiggs, Draymond, and Looney, and the best way to improve it is not to replace one of them with a short PG, no matter how talented.

OTOH, CP3 should be able to have a dramatic positive impact on our second unit. Saric, Moody, and GPII are not “creators,” and even JK is still growing into that. CP3 as a creator / distributor can help a lot, and he’s still enough of a smart, pesky defender to make that second unit solid on the defensive end.

Finally, CP3 tends to prefer a more deliberate style, and I think that the better your starters are, the better it is for your reserves to slow the game down on both ends. The fewer possessions that both teams have while our starters are resting, the less ground we can lose before they return.

(Obviously, it’s even better if our reserves can ADD to our lead, like they did tonight, but I still feel like a slower pace is safest,)

CP3, I will personally build your statue outside Chase if we get another ring this year.

What a legend. Of course he’s still one of the best starting PGs in the league too

I don’t even think he NEEDED to be off the bench this game, could have given him a ceremonial start and quick sub like Looney does sometimes. Good to hear that he appears to be at peace with that role though, at least in front of the media.

It’s weird how much of an asshole he doesn’t seem when he on your team 🤣

    Bro seem cool as hell

If he can just be a Livingston 2.0, that would be tremendous

“Whatever I gotta do to help our team win.” Careful Chris, our subreddit is starting to get a crush on you when you talk like that

I cant believe I’m a Chris Paul fan. Always respected him but man I hated him. But you can tell how much he admires the game and teamwork

6moty! A thing that just occurred to me is that CP3 might also help give us some of that accountability back that Mike Brown stood for.

I hate Chris Paul less and less each game, and that makes me hate Chris Paul because that was always something I could have… something permanent. Thank god for Dildo Brooks.

CP looks like an incredible addition.

Chris Paul had the team highest plus minus at +22 coming off the bench.

To me- he seems ready and willing to do whatever it takes to win, humble enough to come off the bench AND skilled and works hard enough to have the highest +/- on the team.

After missing this attitude from the bench at times last year Chris Paul’s effort and attitude are a breath of refreshing fresh air.

There’s still many games to be played, but for now appreciating a change in team chemistry brought by Chris Paul!!
