3:22 If you think Joel's spinning a narrative, then you haven't paid attention throughout his career.
He's always been consistent about wanting to be a complete basketball player. He's also always been willing to alter his game to accommodate his teammates.
If you watch him his rookie season there was a lot of player movement and he passed the ball quite a bit.
His sophomore year the offence was altered to accommodate Ben Simmons and even then Joel was still a willing passer.
After Simmons left the team (before Harden arrived) and Joel had to handle a lot of the ball, his assists were around 6 to 7 a game. When Harden arrived, Joel hated the fact that the ball stuck a lot and complained about the lack of ball movement being a major factor in important losses.
Joel has been consistent about the importance of ball movement and wanting to be a complete basketball player.
