[Sam DiGiovanni] Joel Embiid on being more directive in the offense: [jokingly] “I’m a point guard.” He then goes more into detail about asking Nick Nurse to install an offense with ball and player movement and how the Sixers need to continue growing with those ideas in mind:

I’m imagining him asking Doc to add player movement and Doc just being like “what’s that?”
It’s funny that after so many seasons, it’s been pretty much the first time that the Sixers players have talked so much about having an actual offensive scheme since like Andre Miller was here.
Hell for most of Joel’s career, the most I can remember is him being like “We’re good players, we can figure it out” or “guys need to shoot more, and I need to be better.”
It’s been almost weird to see guys moving with a purpose without the ball.
First time since jimmy was here they legitimately just look like they’re having fun
Moving off the ball creates easier buckets and less turnovers. Who would possibly have known that though?
Joel had some rough moments in the opener and I was pretty critical of how he played in the fourth quarter in particular but he’s been great the last two games. He seems to be realizing that he won’t have to play hero ball to create offense in this system and that’s a great thing.
