They don't need Harden's scoring, but his playmaking would still benefit Embiid. When you look at Boston and Milwaukee, it just feels like Philly is gonna need more. And I feel like Harden's game does perfectly fit next to Embiid. So it's kind of complicated for Philly.
At this point, I think the best case scenario is wait out the Clippers till they gave a tiny bit more, and trade the picks and assets they get back for OG Anunoby, the perfect fit on this team next to Embiid and Maxey
I was never actually sure why the 76ers wanted Harden in the first place. Maxey looked great from his rookie year and his attitude is incredible. They should have tried to get some good role players and draft picks for Simmons rather than going for a star. Let Embiid be the big dog with Maxey setting him up and running the team; basically let Maxey play the role they had envisioned for Ben Simmons and trade Simmons for depth and draft capital.
I love Maxey but they played only one decent team in the Bucks, who they lost to, the same Bucks that just got blown out by 30. They need a 3rd star and Tim is a known Harden hater. They should trade harden though with Tobi or Oubre to get a better fitting piece.
Embiid will get hurt.
