Bullshit calls and missed free throws..but give Suggs a lifetime deal right now. You can tell dude wants to compete and win.

  2. bllr32423

Jalen was fantastic. Gary shot the ball well. Those are my only takeaways from this game. What a heartbreaking loss.

  3. Milla4Prez66

We needed a three at the end so Mosley leaves Gary on the bench in favor of Paolo and Markelle that put on masterclass brick laying performances tonight.

  4. frostysbox

Mosley not using his challenge when D Lo clearly reached in on Suggs was a horrible coaching decision and he absolutely should have challenged that.

  5. necrolic_8848

Good game, Paolo and Franz will get it together and we will be a really hard out

  6. jackloganoliver

Suggs and Harris were the only two guys who delivered on the night. Suggs especially. Tough loss. Refs didn’t help, but I ultimately put this L on coach. He had to do better at the end of the game.

  7. UnhousedFeline

Paolo fucking blows. Dude at least make your freethrows. wtf is happening.

  8. JaguarsDTWD

Paolo has been absolute cheeks to start the season. I’m a little concerned considering how he looked the 2nd half of last season. Franz being the only respectable shooter in our starting lineup continues to be a massive issue. Not having Gary Harris or Cole Anthony in on the last play of the game is a crime.

  9. Effective_Owl_17

Nothing other than franz and paolo have to play better, that simple… only gonna go as far as they take us

  10. Suggs played his heart out but failed with the last shot. Heartbreaking. All well on to the next game learning lesson for this young team

  11. rengar_senpai

Suggs was crying at the end , Love this dudes passion. Hes gonna be a major piece for us going forward.

Also , Idk what happened to Paolo , but he really needs to figure out his shot. Bro looks terrible on offense. 1-5 from 3 and thats the FIRST 3 hes made this year. Yikes….

  12. Any book have Mr. Referee for the 6th Man award? That was a solid performance. Tough game but a couple of phantom calls, missed travels and stuff did just enough to officiate the game the “right” way.

  13. Unlucky-Top-6294

It feels like we’re trying to win using team basketball but we can’t win when we don’t have a guy score more than 16.

  14. Tough loss, just couldn’t shoot the ball and were on the (predictable) end of some home cooking from the refs.

Need more out of Paolo (and Franz tbh), but Suggs’ start to the year has been really promising at least (save for some suspect shot selection).

On to the next, and please sort out the rotations.

  15. mylastphonecall

franz and paolo shit the bed hard. also wtf was that spacing on the last drive with suggs? paolo and dell in the dunkers spot on both sides of the lane… zero spacing at all after suggs finds room for a drive and instead of one taking just a step back to maybe create an opportunity for a dump off pass for an easy open lay after AD helps they both just cut inside closer. fucking embarrassing

  16. Drewbacca_Hrrrgrgrar

Lost to the Lakers on the tail end of a back to back. I’m starting to doubt our pieces a bit recently. Paolo specifically looks awful and Franz doesn’t look much better. None of our guys look like they took a step forward.

  17. StreetRabbit471

I might be done watching us play the Lakers. Paolo and Franz just shit the bed every time 🤣. One of them plays anywhere near what they are capable of then the game is a walk in the park. It just shows how AD presence in the paint can fuck a whole gameplan

  18. Laker fans are mocking jalen and think he’s annoying. When you play hard af and with passion it gets under people’s skin who prefer to play soft.

  19. This game convinced me that suggs may be the guy that should be more of a focus on the team he has so much passion and effort in his game. He’s also a defensive monster the offensive game is not perfect by any means but I love his confidence in his shot even if it can get him in trouble at times. His jumper already looks way better than the last 2 years and when he’s out there it’s immediate impact I know he didn’t hit the game winner at the end but I think he showed us all something tonight.

  20. screeningnick

Does Paolo know how big and athletic he is? It’s like he’s scared of contact or too worried about playing for the foul.

  21. 1) Really hope Paolo gets out of this slump he’s in right now, he’s been very disappointing to watch so far this season and just isn’t playing winning basketball.
    2) Wendell is getting cooked this year.
    3) Can we stop playing Joe Ingles so many fucking minutes if he does absolutely nothing? Like at least play Jett and see if he can provide us more 3-point shooting (something we still desperately need) off the bench.
    4) One of the guys on the bench is a perfect 6/6 tonight, including 5/5 from 3, and we don’t even have him in on the final play???

Honestly, isn’t that big of a loss this early on, it’s only the 3rd game of the season and on the road on the west coast. I’m just really disappointed after staying up so late just to watch them lose in such a deflating fashion.

  22. Charming_Lion211

Neither Paolo or Franz seems comfortable taking the last shot, Suggs does however but he’s not the offensive player either of them are.

It’s going to be interesting watching how that plays out overtime, especially when we make the playoffs.

  23. breadhead84

Davis and Russell came to play. Can chirp about a few no calls but this game is winnable if we play sharper. Proud of the team for toughing it out and taking it to the wire after a bad start.

  24. Residual-Heat

Not even gonna blame the refs here. The officiating was horrible in the 1st quarter, but they werent the reason Paolo and Franz combined for 9/31 shooting.

I say it all the time, but i will say it again. I love Suggs.

  25. Well, that was disappointing. If I’m looking to the positive, Suggs and Gary are great.
Also we had it close with most of our starters ice cold.

  26. Shoutout Gary ofc and Fultz really got going in the second half. Not too worried about Paolo overall but the missed wide open 3 really killed whatever momentum we had. Suggs defence is amazing. Losses like this will happen, ofc I wish we won but it happens

  27. Jalen Suggs is my new favorite, and once I figure out how to change my flair it will reflect that. The man cares, I almost started crying when I say him crying. I called it in the game thread.. close game, LA’s vets we’re gonna execute better than we were. AD was a monster, DLo reminded everyone he’s not a meme, and Lebron was the closer. Super disappointing Paolo game. Paolo or Franz needed to be out for Harris. Needed Fultz’s playmaking, Suggs hustle and D, and Harris’ shooting. Did not need 2 below average shooters out there in Paolo and Franz. The shooting is clearly still a problem. Lakers packed paint the last 5 min. Love you Suggs. Everyone else, go work on your shooting.

  28. We played the rockets and the blazers, felt cute, then ran into lebron James and Anthony Davis. Davis made Wendell look helpless in the paint. This is unfortunately where we show our inexperience as a team. Further along we get in the season the more we win against teams like this.

Unfortunately, second night of a back to back I’m not optimistic about winning the next one either but we are way better than we were last season.

  29. maursupial

I’m happy we have Jett/ AB to replace Ingles, because he’s done absolutely nothing for three games. Goga played 1 minute too and did nothing, which was disappointing but at least he’ll probably do 1 minute spurts max.

  30. jakehightower

-Laker whistles are just a whole different sport, never changes

    -Suggs is a fucking winner

-Paolo playing center for team USA was awful for his development?

-Gary has to be in the game at the end

-JI is either healthy or he isn’t. If he is, you’ve gotta say fuck it and put him on AD when Wendell is getting cooked

  31. Bad play calling at the end plus Paolo and Franz playing terrible. Should have won that.

  32. Damn this sub is quickly changing their opinion on Paolo. Been saying this for a week, but he needs to get his ass in the gym next offseason and put in work and become a respectable shooter. He is never going to be a closer for us with below average jump shooting and abysmal ft shooting. I genuinely think this guy is gonna go from ROTY to averaging 15/7 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

  33. SonicNarcotic

Some of our fanbase need to chill… We lost 1 game out of 3 (our first real challenge).. We will lose more games this year, BUT we have already seen how much potential this team has through the start of this season…

Games like this will only build our young teams experience and harden us in the long run.. Let’s get behind the players and support their efforts and growth (because they need it and they are already doing their best on the floor)..!

  34. burndestroywreckkill

I think i’ve decided the Magic are my second team since the blazers suck. There’s also a lot of Washington connection (where I live). I thought there was some major home cooking going on with the refs tonight. Absolutely nothing to be worried about from the Magic perspective, they played great and just typical Laker home game bullshit tbh.

  35. 5/5 Gary and not on court for last possession is INSANE.
& The ref made it so obvious on the 4th qtr, then again it’s @ Lakers.

They obviously slack off Fultz and Paolo isn’t playing well… smh Mosley.

Suggs got the DAAAAWG. Somehow he reminds me of Alex Caruso.

  36. lil_thirdy

Tough start for Paolo’s sophomore season good news this is only the 3rd game of the season and he will only get better.

Franz has got to work on his last possesion shots man. Going for a contested three over Lebron a couple of steps behind the 3pt line aint it.

  37. rengar_senpai

ALSO Why the fuck are we playing Joe Ingles 90 year old ass when we have young players who actually can shoot just chilling on the bench (Jett)

  38. bothanspy7

Poor shooting night, unfortunately. We’ll get em next time.

  39. I love Suggs. Kinda reminds me of Darrell Armstrong with how active he looks out there. He’s gonna be good.

  40. Hardwork407

I love this team, but I’m upset we did take advantage of being in the penalty in the 4th. I’m excited about this season, but this is one we should’ve won.
