How can the Pacers get back to their speed against an opponent like that?
Reminded me of last season. Undersized wings playing against power forwards. If the shots don't fall, it makes it hard to win. Theis maybe should have got some minutes once Smith left. That replay looked like maybe a hyper extension. Hope he's ok.
No team shooting this many threes will have long term success unless you have Steph and he is taking them. Pacers need an iso scorer more consistent scoring at the rim and mid range before they will be a real consistent threat . In winning time late in games having threes as your primary option will result in losses in the long term.. with this style they will win when hot from 3 and loose when not..
Rick needs to find a way to get Ben and Obi involved more in the half court
I see Carlisle is still spamming threes and gets outplayed by mediocre teams/coaches. Nothing ever changes.
Omg cannot Nesmith play the three spot and we go bigger & at least bang the offensive boards with more rim protection whenever we’re not hitting 3’s & the other team is not either?? Carlisle’s love affair with Nembhard is his downfall—he had Smith, Obi, & Nesmith in together for maybe only two minutes—too old & too stuffy to change
Playing fast is the only way Carlisle can hide his pathetic half court offensive coaching

I think they really need better team defense at the 1st unit.
Agree tony. They are already good on offense. But if they need to play faster they need strong perimeter defense.
Also they really need to do plays for mathurin on a half cout set.
You can’t keep shooting three points shots when it is not falling. Try to drive the ball inside.
Why did he take Obi out in the 4qt, he was +9 in this game. He is only getting 6 shots a game.?

Nembhardt was TERRIBLE. Couldn't get open looks for his teammates. Couldn't get his own shot. Turned the ball over. Missed wide open shots as did the entire team. Absolute BONEHEADED foul on Caruso right before a shot clock violation. That was the game. It was over for the most part already.
Haliburton was great first half. TERRIBLE 2nd half. He absolutely did not play like an all star 2nd half. He needed to find Mathurin more instead of trying to be the hero. Mathurin had it going offensively for most of the game until the end of the 4th quarter.
Refs were absolutely brutal tonight. As soon as Bulls finally took the lead I knew it was over.
This was a mcconnel/Isaiah Jackson game. TJ plays this game and runs the 2nd unit Pacers win EASILY.
I guess playoffs isn't top priority this year. I haven't checked Caitlin Coopers Twitter but She salivates at the mouth to put Mathurin on blast every chance She gets but I almost guarantee She didn't say anything about Nembhardt. Can't play favorites. Have to call the Game as it Is
As I was watching this Game I told myself whoever wins this game will make playoffs this year. This was a game playoff teams win.
Buddy and Tyrese were targeted every possesion the 2nd half of the 2nd half. Cooper loved to put mathurin on blast about being cooked by Levert. Haliburton was absolutely getting COOKED by Derozan. No shame in that but if She Is going to put a player on blast keep it consistent.
Bad coaching. If Carlisle REALLY wanted to win he'd had played TJ. This was a TJ mcconnel type game. Carlisle blew it trying to 'develop' Nembhardt when he clearly didn't have it. Nembhardt has heart and plays his ass off on defense but he was a liability tonight. As was Tyrese the 4th quarter. Worst 4th quarter I've seen him play in awhile.
This team legit got punked by garbage Ass Torrey craig. This was a VERY winnable game
We get torched in pick and roll defense. Our guys are constantly being forced to have to fight through screens because we can only play drop coverage with Myles. Hes not able to guard in space so it forces our guards to really have to fight screens every single pick and roll action ran against us. You can really only play drop coverage if you have good defensive guards. Which we don’t have yet. If we had a big that could actually guard in space and even hedge the pick and roll some we could actually be a lot more effective on defense and give our perimeter defenders more help to be able to get around screens and back on their man. Myles doesn’t fit our current roster that we have. Im not sure why the coaches haven’t seen this major issue with our pick and roll defense because it has to be one of the worst in the league.
Lavine was 6/19 and Deroazan was 6/17 and only had 2 points at hallftime and i keep heariing IDIOTS complain about bad defense.
4th quarter bad defense? Maybe. Bulls were making tough ISO shots. When an all star player gets it going down the stretch it can be tough to stop. Pacers missed wide open 3s BADLY even. Bulls made tough one on one ISO shots. Thats your ball game.
Pacers one million percent played good enough defense to win this game. Their best players couldnt make wide open 3s down the stretch. Tyrese got locked up 4th quarter. Thats your ball game
