    Few notes/opinions:

    – OG +34 on a 1-3 record is pretty crazy, pay this man what he wants Masai

    – This confirms what I’ve thought for a couple seasons now that Boucher is one of the more underrated bench guys in the league. Comes in, gets boards, plays solid D, slams a couple lobs in. Really solid piece, doesn’t make a lot of mistakes.

    – Scottie being +12 with by far the most minutes played confirms the eye test that he’s been our best player this season IMO.

    – Malachai Flynn is fucking ASSSSSS

    – Can’t expect Jalen or Precious to continue being net negatives, at least not to this degree, so there’s some light in the darkness in that sense

  2. Malachi Flynn must be a god in practice, otherwise you can’t explain why he’s still on the team 3 years later after the draft

  3. -WaterIsGreat-

At this point I think Malachi’s dad has some secret info on Masai/Bobby

  4. Masai and Bobby really thought going into the season with Flynn as the only backup point guard wasn’t gonna be a total disaster.

same story as last season. starters not world beaters but still positive, bench unplayable. nick nurse minutes not going away if they want to be above .500

[A good maximum sample size is usually 10% as long as it does not exceed 1000](https://tools4dev.org/resources/how-to-choose-a-sample-size/)

    >A good maximum sample size is usually around 10% of the population, as long as this does not exceed 1000. For example, in a population of 5000, 10% would be 500. In a population of 200,000, 10% would be 20,000. This exceeds 1000, so in this case the maximum would be 1000.

Over the course of an 82 game season, 10% is roughly 8 games.

Until they hit the 8 game threshold, strictly statistically speaking, there is no point in looking at any data points.

I’m glad we are getting past “Flynn only sucks because he doesn’t get enough minutes”.

Flynn has no NBA level skillset or athleticism. I honestly can’t see any team in the league giving him more minutes than Nurse did.

Good teams aren’t going to play him because he sucks. Bad teams aren’t going to play him because they have much better prospects than him.

IMO it’s totally okay to whiff on a 30th pick. The average outcome of such pick is usually out of the league within a few season. But at some point we have to cut our losses.

For McDaniels, I think he is a good end of bench wing. The biggest issue is that we already have a billion other forwards that do everything he does but better.

It was hilarious seeing this sub overrate him though. People kept talking about him being a 40% 3PT shooter when it was on 1.5 attempts on a 20 game sample size. That was never going to sustain. McDaniels is a 34% career 3PT shooter.

Jalen mcdaniels was not this bad last year lol at least there’s some hope he can bounce back a little. Malachi is obviously a lost cause tho, i think you move schroder to the bench so that he doesnt have to play at all

  9. No_Brilliant5888

Bench Pascal for Boucher. The math works out.

  10. thenewoldschool55

Maybe Masai and Bobby can trade another future pick to the Spurs for some shitty player.

  11. HipDUDE1993

We need to lock up OG to that extension as soon as possible. The possibility of OG in philly burns my eyes especially the cap space they have for next summer the possibility to sign him outright too.

  12. HungryMugiwara

4 Bench + Pascal/Barnes is not working. I think Darko gotta stagger the bench to be just 1-2 people at a time

  13. billychurch

The fact Poeltl is only -2 considering he was -19 going up against Embiid

  14. HankScorpio4242

I mean…it’s not hard to see what’s happening here.

It’s just funny because everyone talks about how much we “struggle in the half court”, but to me, it looks like the real story is that our starters are doing just fine overall and our bench is getting killed.

And I mean…Flynn has looked just awful. But it’s weird because he’s the opposite of his past years. He used to be a terrible shooter, but he was able to take care of the ball and play meh defense. This year his shooting has been great, but his defense has been atrocious and he’s got more turnovers than assists.

  15. The fact Flynn is in year four and this graphic doesn’t have an image of his face tells you all you need to know

  16. Appropriate_Sir_2098

It’s the most useless stat in basketball and always will be.

  17. TheLoLJester1

I don’t like this plus minus thing. Gradey Dick has been playing very well. His basketball IQ is much higher than what a rookie should have. Dare I say he has a better basketball IQ than some of the veterans on this team? His height, surprising confidence, and great shooting will be one of the rookies to watch this season.

  18. Phoenox330

WTF Gary and Precious. McDaniels I really thought we would get more out of him.

Still holding out hope, I think they’ll figure things out. I want to see some Porter minutes as well.

  19. NorthernViews

Gary usually comes on when Malachi does so that’s basically his numbers explained

  20. Malachi going to make it to -100 before Darko thinks about holding him out for Otto…this is bad bro #FreeOtto

  21. Sudden_Low9120

Conspiracy theory: Malachi is still on the team because he takes the heat off everyone else.

Pascal disappears? “OH NO… Malachi is on the floor”

GTJ missing every shot? “MALACHI… DONT YOU FUCKING ATTEMPT THAT SHOT! AWWWWW FUCK… GODDAMMIT.”

  22. Sharpz8114400

This whole team is trash. We already won a chip. Now it’s time to rebuild with Scottie as the face is the franchise fam

  23. foxracing1313

Been ranting about Flynn’s +- , fouls per minute defensive only, and number of times he does a pass to an already covered teammate for years now. Dude has the peripheral vision of a goldfish.

He plays because: 1) always the first to high five the team, get into the huddle, talk to the coachs, be “in the area” on defence acting like he is there defending instead he commits a bad foul, hes every tryhard kid that sucks on everyteam youve been on , 2) we have no other options (mgmt mistake).

Edit: yet somehow everywhere there are still people defending him

  24. Pretty clear. Play Boucher more, play Flynn Never and trade GTJ and more if needed for a backup PG

  25. Dreadmaker

My big one I’m surprised about is jalen mcdaniels. I’ve never really followed him before, but he just looks lost out there at the moment. I don’t know whether to have hope if we get him a backup guard that isn’t Malachi, or if he’s just straight up not that good.

Right now though I’d really prefer Garrett temple or Otto porter would take basically 100% of his minutes

  26. Blenderman840

Blast Malachi into the void of space. I wanna see Freeman-Liberty get some action

  27. d0wnsideofme

I’m thinking +/- is totally meaningless and we should have moved past it years ago

  28. mightychopstick

Malachi Flynn is not even worth a real thumbnail.

  29. Professional-Sock231

Would be nice to have a bench that can score at some point. It’s been since Ibaka that people coming off the bench would be exciting.

  30. meatpie07

God we need to tank for some talent on this roster. This is a poor to mediocre roster at best.

  31. Agreed_fact

Our current best player learned from our former best player that you can’t just quit, you have to ease into quitting.

  32. I know we dog on Flynn but what hell precious doing on this team? I don’t know what value he brings.
