Spencer Dinwiddie hurt and injuries already a major problem for Nets

It’s just the fourth game of the season, but the Nets are dealing with injuries in a major way. Spencer Dinwiddie left Monday’s game and is now doubtful for Wednesday’s game against Miami.

Plus Dennis Smith Jr. is also doubtful as well with a hip issue. Add to that the Nets were already going in without Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton.

It’s been a rough injury run to start the year for a team who is now without a number of players who were expected to play major minutes this season

  1. Tomorrow is going to be another big test for Brooklyn against Miami and they will be down some players such as Cam Johnson Nic Claxton Dennis Smith Jr. and Spencer Dinwiddie.

However depth has been a big key for Brooklyn so far and tomorrow is a night of opportunities for some of our players.

Lonnie Walker lV who has been a great sparkplug of energy especially on the offensive side could potentially be in the starting lineup tomorrow.

Dorian Finney Smith has been exceptional since coming back in the starting rotation and he's done some great defensive work especially helping with the rebounding and he's been building some good chemistry with Ben Simmons.

This is a tough beginning schedule for Brooklyn but they have the depth and focused players ready to step up 👍….

  2. As far as the injuries go, Spencer Dinwiddie's seems more out of precaution than anything especially since he wasn't in serious pain while Dennis got a little banged up in the last game and is recovering in the short term as well. Nic Claxton could potentially be back Friday or Saturday especially since his boot is off…

Again injuries are unfortunate but this team's main core and depth is ready to go 👍…

  3. Also can we just acknowledge the great chemistry that's being built between Ben Simmons and Cam Thomas. Ever since they were paired together they have both raised their level of play and really found a good synergy as well. Simmons who has been trying to find his offensive momentum has used his playmaking abilities to help set Cam Thomas up for a lot of good buckets that Thomas has taken advantage of. More importantly Cam's big scoring has allowed Ben Simmons to focus more on the defensive side, getting rebounds and controlling the offensive flow with his crafty assist passes.

Look forward to seeing how they can build their chemistry more in the starting lineup.

  4. Also signing Keon Johnson to a two way contract today was a nice surprise 🔥. He's an athletic point guard with some height and agility. Definitely another good project for the Brooklyn coaching staff to work on over time….

  5. Going against the Heat, the Nets will be missing 3 starters and possibly a key reserve, we'll get trounched in Miami. That's about as optimistic as I could be.

  6. Not many teams in the league are going to be successful without having those big gritty players that play a physical game in the paint. When opposing giants, from other teams, start manhandling Claxton, when he return, and/or any small ball centers that we use, then there will be a change of opinions about whether they'll applicable in todays NBA or relics of the past. I think a good big man or two is always helpful. Why do you think most if no all teams have at least one.

  7. I’m glad you guys mentioned that Ben unlocks good shots for others. Anyone who’s watched his career and listened to shooters that have played with him, will tell you he gives guys tonnes of good open looks. All our shooters have to do is knock them down consistently and we will be potent offensively.

  8. Injuries could possibly lower expectations/pressure? I mean, they’re not incredibly high as it is

  9. I don't think fans understand how good Spencer did. He really is. I heard him saying he was second and ISO scoring last year behind Kyrie Irving – Royce the right choice is a great interior defense guy as Doug says he doesn't do anything great but he doesn't do anything wrong either. And don't forget he started when we had KD and Kyrie he definitely fits the team
