I don't trust Harden and think this trade could be more harmful to the Clippers in the coming months as it plays out. Harden was a hugely talented offensive player, a liability on defense, and a perpetual malcontent for almost every team he's played for in recent years. He's past his prime, 34 yo, selfish and seems to be out of shape with much less motivation than in the past, even though he's going to a club he said he wanted to be part of with players he's been close to in the past.
The Clippers aren't giving up a large amount in the trade, though they're only getting a question mark in Harden and a bag of peanuts in return, so if Harden washes out for some reason they have little to show for it and his contract is only set for this season. Philly did OK in this trade. I'm just glad the Clippers held onto Norman Powell, and Mann is still an underachiever/inconsistent, in my view.
James Harden with Westbrook Kawhi & PG will be nice. The question is how will he do with Lue.
