The nerds break down some of their NBA early season standouts. They discuss why Steph Curry’s dominant play isn’t the only reason the Golden State Warriors look much better than last year, how Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks have overachieved expectations, and why Chet Holmgren has helped elevate the Oklahoma City Thunder as the best young core in the league.

  1. I don't remember either of them being "really high" on the warriors before the season started
As far as poole goes… well,, we told yall! He had 1 good year, just one. And that went to his head.

  2. OKC getting completely obliterated at home by the Nuggets doesn't seem to have shaken their confidence which is impressive for a young team. I think that loss will help them in the long run by showing them how far they have to go. They actually remind me a lot of the early Jokic era Nuggets so as long as they're patient–and Presti may be the most patient GM in the NBA–they're going to be very, very good for a long time.

  3. The Suns are going absolutely nowhere. Whether y'all realize that during the season or in the playoffs makes no difference. They're either going to be injured or will choke. Those are the 2 options.

  4. mavs gotta play a good team before i believe what weve been seeing

  5. Discussion topic. What is the value of increased BB IQ by having 4 progeny of former NBA players on your team? Steph Klay Payton and Davis all grew up around the NBA and makes them consummate professionals.

  6. Longtime warriors fan, and even in their game 1 loss to the Suns, I was extremely happy with how they played that game. Much improved defense, limited turnovers and stupid fouls, great ball movement, and shot selection. They were getting great looks all night, the ball just wasn't going in. I thought the Suns were more than a bit lucky to get the win.

  7. Mike Dunleavy Jr has done an amazing job with this roster.

Without doubt this team is deeper than they’ve been in years.

  8. I told you guys before season start. Warriors are far from done. Steph will be MVP. Kuminga and Moody will battle for MIP and we will win the Championship.

  9. Love your guys content, but the box score and advanced metrics don't tell the whole story. Watching the games, Kuminga has been very good, big step since last season.

  10. Lukas playin Much Improved defense. It’s funny no one talks about it given that’s his first criticism for the last few years.

  11. I'm sorry, but can we please stop calling Andrew Wiggins the Warriors 2nd best player. That guy is clearly Draymond and it has always been Draymond other than that stretch from 2016-2019 with KD on the team.
