I’m gonna just throw this out there but the reason why this offense has sucked is not only missed shots but it’s a refusal to get Mitchell Robinson involved at any level in the offense. Donte is literally the only player I’ve seen lob the ball to Robinson this year when he’s open 75% of the time on offense.

Whenever we penetrate the paint, bigs just straight up don’t guard Robinson because they know he won’t get the ball. It’s honestly infuriating watching this team’s refusal to involve Mitchell Robinson on offense at any fucking level at all when he’s at this point the reason why we are winning any games through his incredible offensive rebounding. It is actively hurting this team and imo the main reason why this offense looks like complete fucking trash.

  2. Brunson is at least getting his usual shots, they’re just not falling for whatever reason. I think it’ll get better as the season goes.

But Randle, he looks so lost. He’s not even taking the shots he usually takes. He’s just completely out of it. Idk what it is. I don’t want to be the body language guy but I don’t think I’ve seen him smile once all season. He looks like he’s silently protesting

I love Grimes’ game but he’s the most timid, unsure player I ever seen on offense. Shit is so annoying. Great defense though

Mitch still showing that he’s the reason our shitty offense was ranked so high. Those offensive rebounds are really the only thing we’re top 5 in the league in.

  3. I hate losing for stupid reasons.

I hate losing for multiple stupid reasons even more.

I know it’s a B2B, but we needed to just show up a little bit and we would have a W. FML.

  4. Yankeeknickfan

Julius Randle is getting a lot of the justified hate but I am much more disappointed in Jalen Brunson. I personally believe he’s a much better player than Randle and held him to much higher standard as a result.

Idk if it’s because he decided to play in some tourney nobody in this country cares about, but the dude has shot horribly this year when he’s supposed to be getting 22-25 ppg efficienctly at least. Going to have to be slumming it out with losers in the play in if we’re losing games like the injured cavs becsuse he can’t score the way he’s supposed to.

  5. Uncletookey

We need a backup 4 and a coach who will actually play him when 30 is garbage.

  6. nyc_brand

Randle has been horrible to start this season but somehow topped himself this game. If he’s injured rest him.

  7. GoldenBoyRecords

I know it’s 5 games in but this doesn’t look good. Randles effort is still influenced by what kind of night he is having shooting. Thibs still doesn’t hold him accountable for his lack of defensive effort . Some positives though I like the way the second unit plays. Donte has settled in and IQ has started the season off strong. Too soon for trades but I doubt we don’t shake things up if we are more than 2-3 games under .500 20 games in.

  8. RJBarrettsBurner

Have to make your open 3s, have to shoot them with confidence. Have to make your free throws too.

On the 3s – it’s especially concerning our best shooters (Grimes and Brunson) seem to be afraid of being behind the arc when they go cold. Especially Grimes, but both of them – we are paying you to shoot. Please.

Mitch needs to turn that Hustle Rebounder into Putback Beast. And make some foul shots. But great effort from him – don’t want to diminish his impact. Honestly should get more passes to him in the paint too.

Got nothing to say about 30. Same player. When he’s off he just brings so little. Whatever. Sooooo excited for the playoffs haha… Niang had more rebounds lol

  9. Sigerlion

Cavs missed 1 FT, we missed 10… as usual. That’s why we won’t go far into the playoffs.

  10. The_Notorious_Donut

Why is Julius playing 40+ minutes when he’s sucking? Why is he never held accountable? Why does Thibs love him? Why did we get rid of our back up forward and let a man to gets notoriously gassed do the heavy lifting? So many questions

  11. GreenEggzAndSpam

30 is a bum. Hanging his head, moping up and down the court not getting back on offense or defense, jawing at refs all night.

  12. Sonsof_Manarchy

Pathetic loss. Looks like the Randle being good every other year thing is legit. I don’t understand why Thibs continued to play him tonight.

  13. tropic_gnome_hunter

Team is full of losers. Only reason they win is because one player has a lucky shooting night.

If Randle was on the Bucks, Sixers or Celtics he would have his contract bought out just so they could get rid of him. Just a completely unserious franchise chock full of losers.

  14. teknomatic

Held them in the 90s but still lose cuz our offense is absolute shit. I don’t know how thibs watches this offense and thinks that he doesn’t need to change anything

  15. PS- You mean to tell me we could not carve out 8-10 minutes for Evan Fournier to fire up some 3’s when nobody nor their mama could hit one for their life?

Thibs is the problem imho, and right now he can’t do any magic like he did last season like shortening the rotation.

  16. BigOlBert

Randle has a loser mindset. It’s not fixable. Him plus Fournier plus all 13739 of our first round picks for embiid or equivalent please.

  17. FrankNtilikinaOcean

Probably one of the worst Julius games I have ever seen.

I cannot wait to hear how some of you stupid mfs defend his efforts, shot selection, decisions tonight.

    “but he was All NBA”

We can rightfully criticize players when they play like this and put in zero fucking effort.

  18. NYdude777

Knicks just announced they sending Randle back to school. Gonna take some classes at Villanova.

  19. smileyfrown

Randle has a **27.6 FG%** on the season

I try not to be super judgmental of early season struggles but that is such a dog shit number that I can’t help myself … wtf dude figure it out quick

  20. Ok_Woodpecker1732

Generally, making baskets helps win basketball games. If I were coach, I’d probably tell them to make more of them. That’s where I’d start.

  21. YanniSwagger

I would love if our 2 best players were not playing the worst on the team. I would love if Quentin Grimes was allowed to dribble the ball into the paint. I would love if we set real screens. I would love if our coach allowed our two centers to post up and shoot. I would love if we had a backup power forward. I would love if we ran a modern nba offense. I am very happy basketball is back and I have things to be upset about

  22. Dylan7346

I’m officially on trade Randle team. I understand shots not falling but the effort is nonexistent it really looks like he didn’t want to play today. He’s shown that playing harder and smarter is a toss up it really depends if he just hits his first few shots then he’ll get his head in the game

  23. Toxicyoshi7

    – RJ is super important to this teams core identity. 3rd scorer and capable of creating offense when Brunson and Randle struggle
    – Randle is having a horrible start to the year. No idea what’s the issue maybe some tough matchups, hopefully gets his shit together fast
    – Brunson is still clearly the best player on the Knicks
    – IQ is also arguably just as important to the team as RJ. He’s consistently dropping 15-20 points off the bench.

  24. Knicks fans should cheer for the other teams at home, you know, to make them feel they are playing away games…

  25. dtc_brock

    16% from 3 🤮🤮🤮

If the Knicks hit their 3’s at the same rate as the Cavs, they win by 12.

This was the same story in New Orleans. I hope this doesn’t become a theme this season

  26. ClammyDavis-Jr

This team is going nowhere lol the overall talent level is aggressively mid and so is the front office. Playoffs ended and it was clear we needed shooters, so what we did was sign Divencenzo and extend Hart? We trade the backup 4 for nothing? I don’t care what any of you say, the Knicks won’t win a thing as long as Dolan is owner. He simply can not form a well-above average front office. Idk how many more years of this shit you need to see before you agree.

  27. Agitated_Stay_3471

RJ usually has a slow start for the season – maybe he swapped with Randle and Brunson – hopefully they come good in another week

  28. Knicks are not a serious team until Thibs and Randle are gone. These guys ain’t it.

  29. Randle is in his usual playoff form heading into the NBA In-Season Tournament

  30. warmongerz

Brunson hasn’t played well. Randle looks like an absolute detriment to the team. There is a big difference

  31. TotteKaiju

I honestly can’t think of the last good player I can’t wait to see to leave the team like Randle. I’m so tired of him.
