This just feels very 2K-ish. They’re as bad as the MLK Day ones were good, if that makes sense. It doesn’t really feel inspired. Just a mish-mash of colors with quasi-deep symbolism attached. Black representing the pursuit of a championship? Come on.
They almost look like Memphis’ jerseys.

I still don’t love the font, but the color scheme has grown on me a good bit. That said, the light color is being called “buttery brown” and for some reason that is absolutely hilarious to me.

But I challenge Nike that these city jerseys need to be way splashier. I would take risky bets that swung for the fences and maybe didn’t work out over something so safe like these. We have our regular unis to be our standard bearers for the city. Do something crazier please.
