Not gonna contend for playoffs, not gonna tank. This year feels like purgatory

  2. lonelymagician

I just watched a game of basketball, that’s for sure.

I have feelings but what are they.

  3. That was ugly. but at least they kept it close.

Speaking of ugly, these white jerseys are awful. The highlighter yellow ones are somehow better

I like THT. I like Clarkson. I like Sexton. I do not like all three of them on the same team thinking they’re the number one option. It’s way past time to consolidate two of the three.

  5. i’m a magic fan, gg. felt oddly confident most of the 2nd half and then got a huge scare, you guys just kept coming wow

  6. KO picked a hell of a time to get his terrible turnover of the game.

  7. So much buildup in the final minutes, just to fall flat in the end

  8. Andrewski18

I’d like to extend my sincere condolences to THT’s inbox on all his social media accounts tonight.

  9. Would’ve been nice if someone wanted to take the shot rather than pass the buck to THT until he was forced to take it.

You knew when the ball came to THT in that spot he was not going to hit it

The refs were shit today. But no excuses , we had the game

Orlando is a solid team and that was our fifth game in seven nights. Some of you are way to doom and gloom

Every close loss of the coach Hardy era has been roughly the same. The opposing team is allowed to play incredibly physical, but we are called for fouls if we try to match even a modicum of that physicality ourselves. We commit a shit ton of unforced turnovers (this has become even worse this year and really last year after trading Conley), and we are absolutely unable to get stops consistently. Our pg situation needs to be fixed and Hardy needs to come up with a better defensive scheme if we want to avoid being a bottom three team in the west.

20 turnovers and Orlando +10 from the line.

Happy we had a chance at the end but we just have to play better. Can’t play uphill all night.

Edit: damn hardy blamed the officials for the false start on the last play said it threw us off our rhythm. Looks like he just unnecessarily dribbles the ball a couple times very weird. Shit like this and the way the game was called really makes me wonder.

    Surprising stats of the night:

Jordan Clarkson: 21 pts, 6 reb, 6 ast. Not when he got those.

    THT had 8 assists. somehow.

John Collins coming in strong with a 20/10 and doing all the dirty work. Dude was everywhere all at once.

  16. KingCummyGodard

Can’t blame THT when Clarkson shoots 20 shots at 25%

Lauri needed more shots but has 4 guards in the rotation that all think they’re the number 1 option

  17. Super-Level4128

Thought Clarkson had a good look before passing it out to THT

  18. Good:

    * The team has some fight in them still
    * Keyonte keeps looking promising
    * Olynyk seems more improved this season

    Average:

    * We stole one against LAC and didn’t quite steal one against Magic. The universe balances out.

    Bad:

    * The defense freely allows drives and backdoor cuts. We need a center and Kessler is getting literally played off the floor.
    * JC, THT, and Sexton just aren’t point guards. They all telegraph passes badly. All signs point to Keyonte starting this season.
    * Those refs were something else.
    * 5 games in 7 nights is a rough way to start the season.

Number seventy seven Yurtseven had seven points

So far the story of the season to me has been that our front court is playoff caliber, and our backcourt sans Keyonte is high lottery caliber. If this team really wanted to contend for the playin to avoid owing OKC a future pick, why did Ainge roll into the season without a competent starting point guard on the roster? Even with someone like old ass Kyle Lowry playing all the non-Keyonte minutes, we probably could be 4-2 right now.

I’m not sure who exactly needs to go, who needs to have their role reduced, or who needs to be added, but I know for sure that Lauri Markkanen deserves a better team than the 2023-24 Utah Jazz.

  22. coolguysteve21

What a frustrating game. Felt like The Magic were allowed to play way more physical than the Jazz.

But even more frustrating the ten+ turnovers were real terrible

If a foul call or two goes our way we may win this game but if we cut down in turn overs we definitely win this game

    PAIN!!!

  23. lonelymagician

Will Hardy: I don’t want to lose any more money talking about the officials.

    Real tanking starts here

We only need one of JC, THT or Sexton. Pick one.

Are we really going to build a team by draft? As of now, we’re not maximizing it. What’s our team plan with Hendricks? If Keyonte is our pg, we should play start him.

We should use Lauri as our main star or trade him for something. It’s unfair for him

  25. Halfgridd

    My takeaways

    – We didnt win

    – They did

    In conclusion

    – I smash things!

Is it just me or is 97.5 using a potato with a coat hanger stuck into it for a transmitter? I was hoping it would get better when KSL took over, but it remains the same.

I have to put some weight on the coach. Not just on the last plays. It seems he is just experimenting or just making bad mistakes. Is he just keeping THT in the game in an attempt to pump up his value for a trade? Why draw up an option play where if the shot isn’t there the game is decided on a THT 3 when you only need 2? We can blame the players for their mistakes. Coach needs to hear it too.

    Game thoughts:

Loved the fight from this team. Glad that seems to have carried over from last year.

Defense is still just not there. Think some of this has to do with lineups. Pretty worried about the Twolves.

THT had his best game of the season. As someone who definitely isn’t his biggest fan, I gotta him props this game. Sucks he missed that last 3, but his 3 point shooting still just isn’t there.

JC has got to stop turning the ball over so much and forcing stuff. I still think this has something to do with not having an actual point guard out there with him.

The problem still remains that THT & JC cannot be in the opening and closing lineups as the main guards. It just becomes too messy. We need an actual point guard playing with them and especially closing in late game scenarios.

Keyonte continues to make some really impressive reads. I want him to start getting more aggressive looking for his shot. But he still looks like our point guard of the near future.

Collins has been such a huge steal for us so far. Just a walking double double. If he can make 3s like that consistently. We can be lethal.

Lauri is amazing, hope he gets some rest and can still play going forward. Those were some tough falls tonight, but we need him desperately to be competitive.

  29. mayo_color_benz

I feel like a traitor asking this, but is Ben Simmons just the type of player we need?

Sorry for the lack of game notes tonight, I was unable to watch the game. I’ll be back Saturday!
