I’m gonna love listening to all the excuse makers for Randle say he’s still getting over off season surgery. Or he’s always start slow at the beginning. Or he’s just allowing his teammates to get in the flow. Or he’s doing other things to affect the game. We are a small ass team with no suitable backup at the PF position. Josh Hart is not the 🤬answer. I bet you if they had signed PJ Washington in the off season like I wanted them to, Randle would have that needed motivation to play better. But let’s see ppl how this plays out to the mid way point.
Randle is fine.
Shooting You can just tell that's an in game rhythm issue from having surgery this off season not being really ready to go full speed until training camp.
BUT
As far as his attitude / body language this last game..
No coincidence this happens after Charles Barkley blasts on TNT about Randle not being able to shoot and he needs to take it to the rim & ect.
Let me really break this down with an ongoing example..
Julius was top 3 in double teams drawn last season behind Giannis and Joel Embiid.
And the only two players that created more points per possession passing out of doubles than Randle, were Giannis and D. Fox with the Kings
All while the Knicks were a bottom 10 team in shooting efficiency..
It's year 5 and Julius has not been provided spacing..
In counter to that last season the coaches challenged Julius to take more 3's ( 8 per game)
And Julius knows this is what he has to do because the Knicks have no spacing. .
The contending teams use a stretch 5 system. All 5 guys out.
Wing shooters with length.
And they utilize pick n rolls /pick n pops for their bigs to take advantage.
Cleveland is NOT contending. They have no stretch 5.
The Knicks don't have anything going… It's a predictable ceiling.
Julius really wants to make it work with the Knicks but maybe his patience is thinning.
"We can't win this guy" okay granted he's not Lebron..
But we've yet to see a season where he has legit spacing. Where he could attack an open paint more times than just a few.
And have the actual shooters, off ball screens / cuts to make defenses pay for doubling him.
The footage exists.. Julius had competent offensive coaches already. And systems.
All he needed was the jumper to come through to put his game together
But the Knicks have literally set him back with these rosters and lack of systems / spacing.

He broke his leg game 1 of his rookie year
Year 2 was kobe's retirement tour .
Year 3 is where he finally began the real development stage.
Year 4 he averaged 21 & 10 in 41 games as a starter & had the Lakers with the 8th best winning % the moment he was a starter
Year 5 , AD quit for LeBron .. Pels won 34 games with AD missing half the year
& the games AD did play, he sat the 4th quarter
Year 6 the era of the no spacing non shooting Knicks where they put all the accountability on Julius
Where he had to turn into a stretch 4 and be a great team passer in no spacing, no point guard for 3 years, no pick n rolls. No pick n pops.
And Julius is the main one looked at to perform perfectly
The man played 12 minute quarters on a back to back against Zion .
Julius has to be the only guy in the NBA to play 12 minute quarters every game or at least 98% of the time.
I think Julius us fine. But he won't be if the Knicks and him don't divorce. And ASAP

Seems like J R has heard his name in trade rumors and is tanking. In the win vs Cleveland only three players took shots for most of the quarter with no passes , just bring it up and go 1 on 1 , then the bench comes in and they pass the ball around even the center gets to touch it. Do we have 2 different coaches? Is Tibbs afraid to coach the starters? 1 man with the ball for 3/4 of the shot clock.
