Like he wasn’t perfect and I don’t think he’s gonna be a PG in the NBA but the hate from both outside fans and even on here is ridiculous

The nice part is I think 3 of those are assists to wemby. Sochan still hasn’t consistently shown that he can break down a defense like tony did but that AST/TO ratio is absurd. he’s trending in the right direction

& he played with 5 fouls in the 4th quarter. Sochan putting in work 🏀

Everyone is talking about Wembys 38, rightfully so but I thought sochan was great last night, I liked his defense on booker

Im with it since day 1 until we draft or land a longtime pg. And it will only help his development
But last night coaches adjusted and they ran different plays where he posted up in different areas (middle of court and free throw line area) and he got guys wide open threes, as opposed to trying to drive on people. Almost like a bigger Andre miller

The guy is improving. Let him become the PG that PATFO is craving.

Dudes here acting like everyone running the point has to be Point God or that maybe, just maybe players can experiment, try new things, make mistakes and then get better with more reps.
What a crazy idea.

I liked some of the actions on the 4th quarter, he created some shots for himself.

I enjoy watching all the players on the Spurs and Jeremy is at the top of my list. He will improve more at his new position, I buy in if pops wants him at point guard.

Sochan had the tough task of guarding both KD and Booker which would get most anyone into foul trouble. Even with that he was aggressive and was playing some smothering D on Booker down the stretch with so many fouls.

I don’t think he’s our long term starting PG but – and no disrespect to any of these guys – but if we can win a chip with Fabricio Oberto, Rasho Nesterovic or Tiago Splitter at starting center we can win a chip with Sochan at PG.

It’s very clear that Sochan has prioritized not turning the ball over, over making higher level reads. As much as people want him to always pass to Wemby (I suspect that they care more about Wemby getting stats than the right basketball play) doing so exposes his passes to significantly more risk.
That risk isn’t necessarily a bad thing, people like Jokic and LeBron always are near the league lead in turnovers, but if you’re Sochan, and you’re unsure of your execution, making the simpler play can make a lot of sense

He was excellent. I’ve been hard on him all year – massive kudos.
Dsarg_92
Low-key, he was the second best player after Vassell got hurt.

He dogged Booker in the last 5 minutes and made him a nonfactor. His block on Booker at the end was my favorite non-Wemby play of the game.
Glad that Pop’s sticking with the point Sochan experiment. He brings a lot defensively when he’s in, and its not like Tre can play point every single minute Wemby is in anyway, so why not just chill and let Sochan develop?

Sochan probably won’t be the PG of the future but this experience will make him even more dynamic next to wemby in 1-2 years. Love watching him grow and play ball.

His best game by far. When he and Wemby are both on I think we are a tough team to beat any night.

So underrated the getting chippy with book made this a classic game

The NBA thread was scapegoating him so hard last night but I thought he was excellent. He was much better running the show and looking for Vic too. When he was out there without Victor we had a hard time getting stops but considering he was left on an island against two top 10 players and two of the greatest scorers in the league you can’t hold too much against him. When Victor wasn’t in there, our defense got shredded in general
