I think this was a great trade for the Chippers. They were able to keep their core players still (Norman, and Mann). This was a classic salary dump. Norris is not the same player anymore, Batum is probably retiring at the end of the year. Covington, and Martin bench player at the most. Chippers get Harden and P.J. Tucker too.
Lmao, at the prospect of people being upset they traded PJ Tucker, in fact I would have personally driven him and his horrible contract to LA myself. Sixers all of sudden are one of the deepest teams in the East with a coach, who unlike Doc Rivers will use more than a 6-7 man rotation. This trade puts the Sixers back into the top 4 in the East again, Good job.
For the moment I’ve heard about this crazy trade, I thought the Clippers lost this deal. However, I really believe the Clippers own by acquiring PJ Tucker and managing to keep Terrance Mann. But Harden is not a big of a deal as a player anymore.
First round pick in 2028…not going to help in the Embid era, i don't see Sixers getting anyone who makes them more likely to contend, and they were playing well, even PJ was so far this season. Maybe a slightly better bench i guess.
Cluppers don't get better either, since now they all have to babysit Harden and try to keep him happy so he doesn't just leave at the end of the season. And now Clippers have to either let Harden brick them into losing in the second round of the playoffs, or sit him knowing he walks for nothing after the season, so the Clippers can win. At least PJ shores up their bench.
