[Schlecht]According to this report, the Thunder will have their TV rights back after the season ends. Stuck with Bally until then.

Can I get a fuck Bally Sports? I hope we can copy what the suns did for their tv deal.

Why donā€™t the Thunder just handle the distribution themselves? Canā€™t be that hard, illegal streaming sites do it for free.

I pirate that shit now, but would happily pay the thunder 5 or so bucks a month to watch next year.

  3. I’d love to pay $60-$80 a month for a subscription to watch all the Thunder games, but until they figure something out that is reliable and isn’t shit – Yarr, Matey!

OK, I just wanna type this before I post the next part: you REALLY gotta remember that there’s no such thing as a free lunch!

    > After this season, the deal has the NBA reclaiming the rights to the 15 teams that have deals with Bally Sports. The teams could work out new deals with the Diamond-owned RSNs at that point.

Translation: don’t be mad if the Thunder re-up with a deal. Basically, the Thunder are getting PAID right now by Diamond (Bally). If the Thunder does this themselves they’ll have to either find a distributor or have their own backend infrastructure in place. Good example is the WWE Network; they lost 10s of millions doing it themselves. Peacock swooped in with that billion dollar deal and they quickly threw up the deuces.

You wanna get PAID – not be PAYING.

Its similar to hosting on the NBA platform; NBA is not going to pay the Thunder to host their own content.

What I’m typing is if the Thunder host themselves, it’ll be more than that $20/mo Bally charges, and you won’t get other sports, too….

Should be included for season ticket holders. I legit only have Cox video for away Bally games šŸ˜–
