CP3 has been a complete godsend
Steph continues to amaze me.
Wiggins not being out there in the 4th is very interesting. Maybe Steve is sending a message.
I love the growth Moody is showing
it really sucks how much i’m starting to like chris paul. it’s like sherm w the niners.
the lack of turnovers alone is such a big change from last year that would make or break games for us
just need him to stop hesitating on threes so much and we’re golden
48 bench points 🥰🥰
PointGoat and PointGod sealing the game for us today.
What a bounce back game from CP3, we needed every single point from him today.
They need to figure out what’s wrong with Wiggs, he’s so off right now.
Can’t wait for this road trip to end. This shit is just too brutal to start the season courtesy of the fucking r word schedulers. We need to recalibrate things.
Wiggs tried to get his engine running and he even camped the paint during the third. Shots just aren’t falling.
Hope the upcoming home stand fixes things.
It feels like the difference between us being what we are now and being a very good team is Andrew Wiggins performing how he has in past season
Also I’d like Kuminga have a good 1st half for once lmao it feels like he only plays well in the second
We’ve said it a lot already but last season team would’ve gotten clapped by Stewart and Killian hayes 100%.
Some things are pretty clear after a few games. There’s not enough inside scoring, especially with this version of Wiggins. Bench is going to struggle to score, and against good, deep teams, I’m not sure just switching Moody for Klay is enough. They rely heavily on Saric to score and that’s not a winning formula imo. Defense is usually great tho.
I really hope Wiggins just needs games to find a rhythm. If he’s still a bit injured and he’s forcing to play, that would be moronic. If that’s the case, please REST him. I’d even argue his value right now is at best neutral, and that’s because he still play above average defense(nowhere near his elite ability).
The rest of his game is even rougher. Shot is completely gone. Edge is gone. He’s sleepwalking out there at times. His handles have always been a limitation for him, but right now he looks terrified to bring the ball up at times.
He’s clearly in his head aswell. Not overly, but a bit worried ngl. I was expecting-or hoping- for a bit of a scoring jump from him, getting some of the shots Poole was taking. Maybe later in the season. Maybe not.
Another guy who has me worried is Kuminga. I’ve been his fiercest suporter since day 1 but there’s still a lot of the same issues. He always, always enters the game asleep, with no effort or concentration. If I could bet he’ll get a turnover within his first 3 minutes I’d be rich. He usually levels up in the second half.
His effort in general is so inconsistent. Cutting, running the floor, figjting for loose balls, navigating screens, close outs, rebounding… He’s shown flashes of all that for extended stretches, but no consistency. You don’t really know what you’re gonna get from him.
His lack of effort or “edge” is even more glaring when sharing the court with Moody and Gp2, both players who play every single minute like it’s their last. Not sure if it’s an ego problem with Kuminga. Maybe the game still goes to fast for him.
Offensively, he’s a bit of a discordant note. He’ll ball watch or ask for a postup most of the times off ball, and ball stop when he gets it. To be fair, that might be a bit by default since the bench has some serious issues creating offensively.
I’d still would like to see him cutting hard every damn time if his defender helps (like gp 2 does) and run the floor hard. It’s funny because he tends to put too much effort when guarding the ball, being over aggressive and getting blown by, biting on pump fakes, fouling too much…
Remember the oop he got yesterday vs Cavs in the 4th cutting from the corner? No reason for him to not get at least one of those a game when he shares the court with Steph and Draymond.
He’s extremely fast but barely shows it since his handles are sus and would rather jog down the court.
Still trust Kuminga can figure it out sooner rather than later. Warriors NEED him to if they want to be serious contenders. An improved version of him solves a lot of what we lack. Can you imagine how good he would be if he played with the energy a guy like Ausar plays? Or shit, if he played the first half like he does in the second.
Disclaimer: I’m not trying to be just negative. We don’t suck. We’re great and I believe we’re real contenders. But a fifth ring would be soooo sweet. And some things/players need to get better throughout the season.
Please more rook minutes. They don’t really play like rooks and produce every time.
Kuminga or Moody needs to start over Wiggins. That man hasn’t been mentally locked in.
i’m… a chris paul fan?
Fuck whichever asshole at the NBA office came up with this dogshit schedule,
Only reason this game was close was Hayes+Umude having the games of their lives going a combined 13-20, 7-9 on threes
What the hell is up with Wiggins
Going to the post split with Cp3 being defendes by Sasser to close the game was a genius move.
Steph deserves better than this. Shouldn’t need him to carry us to a win over lottery teams
FIVE ROAD WINS?!?!!?
All those game thread doomers DONT FUCKIN SHOW UP IN HERE.
Now we gotta beat the defending champs what a statement win that’ll be
Klay holds up pretty decently against 3/4, but he can’t box them out at all. Having a poor rebounding shooting guard playing the 3/4(at times), surrounded by smaller guys and Kuminga/Wiggins who are or can be sus rebounders ain’t ideal.
Killian Hayes isn’t going to make 8 shots combined over his next 3 games. So annoying
6-2 … niiiiiice
Kuminga’s first halves needs to be investigated, 3rd game in a row where he starts super slow.
Also, at what point do we need to get worried about Andrew Wiggins?
CP3 stepping up to get the Curry hard carry over the line.
Classic Warriors game from last season in that Killian Hayes and whoever Stanley Umude is went off on the team, but this team would’ve lost this game last season. Steph was on one though, wild 4th quarter with the pump-fake corner 3, the moonball over Stewart, and that crazy rolling layup to ice it. Love when he’s in the zone showboating like that.
Not as pretty as we would have liked against a short handed Pistons team, but a win is a win! We just needed to bounce back. I’ll cut them a bit of slack because we’ve been on the road so much (the NBA raw dogging us with the schedule ffs), but play like that against Denver and they’ll eat us alive lol.
Steph being the best player in the league at 35 is wild
Can we make Kuminga pretend it’s the 4th quarter the whole game??
those Wiggins numbers oof. The Denver game is going to be…interesting 😅
I know game threads have a lot of wild takes but can we stop complaining about Steve Kerr following rotations and resting Steph. He can’t play 48 minutes.
Anyway. Chef is still HIM.
Imagine how we’d be last game and this one if Wiggins played like 2022 playoffs Wiggins.
i watched the game on a local detroit stream! the commentators were gold in the last quarter when steph came in. you could hear they were terrified for the menace he’s going to inflict on this young pistons
Saric is such a steal on a vet min, he deserves so much more. As long as he stays mostly healthy, he’s looking at a real nice bag come FA.
Lot of minutes for the vets, but 5-1 on the road? 6-2 on the season? Hard to complain, and I’m sure some scheduled rest days are on the way.
+20pts in the paint is a big one, love to see that shit. Would like for the defense to be better and more connected, but you gotta think it’ll come with time.
Pistons missing a ton of player, but that was still a fan ass game. Cade is legit, and Ausar is showing he’s well worth that early lotto pick. When his shot is falling, he’s such an incredibly well rounded player. Cade, Ausar, Stew, Duren, Ivey… Pistons got a nice little thing going on, the wins will come.
Great W some take aways ..
Cp3 is so good man
Steph still being Steph..
as for wiggins uhhh he’ll be get there while his offense is not there he still adds sizes which we lack in anyway
on too nuggets scared of them lol
Another ugly win and honestly I’m here for it. We will also have nice wins. Wiggins still getting in shape, no major Klay games, moody and kuminga getting playing time – we are good!
Watching Andrew Wiggins waste his athleticism with hook and push shots that never go in nauseates me. SLAM THAT SHIT PLEASE
Just putting it out there. I 100% believe that GP2 should be on the floor in closing lineups. His defense has game altering impact, and he gives us another guy to clear to glass and prevent second chance opportunities (especially against bigger teams).
I sometimes feel like people don’t give Klay enough credit. Coming back from an ACL tear is a lot harder than people might think. I tore mine as a competitive gymnast and even with proper healing, I’ve still had issues. The older you are, the more trouble it causes too.
It’s like he almost gets nervous now. I could be dead wrong though.
Never thought I’d be rooting for CP3. But he’s so detrimental to the team right now. It’s really amazing to see.
And I hope Wiggins starts feeling more like himself soon.
You doomers feel stupid yet?
we got swept by a worse version of this team last year and we routinely lost games whenever some role players got hot. this team different right now.
6-2 at this stage is awesome. If we can sneak one out at Denver and get home 7-2 before a 6 game homestand…Go dubs
JoKu is actually doing a good job with punishing mismatches this year, especially since the team isn’t being constantly tasked with running the “system” every possession. nothing wrong with just clearing a side sometimes.
he hit his free throws tonight, just needs to get back into mid-70s territory.
Happy for the win, but they do seem very tired. 8 games in 8 cities seems like such a shitty schedule.
Moody playing really really well
Klay went 1-8 behind the arc but still shot 50%? wild. So he went 7/8 on two pt shots. That’s nice.
