[Shams] Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III is facing potential season-ending surgery to repair bone and ligament damage due to right kneecap injury, sources tell me and @JaredWeissNBA. Williams and doctors could also choose cleanup procedure with 2-to-3 month timetable.

    Blazers still cursed what’s new

That’s a piercer. Sucks for him and the team.

Zero benefit to taking the quicker route. We’re not flipping him at the deadline coming off of this. Just do it right and we’ll try again next year.

I wonder if he gets another contract

Damn prayers up for Time Lord either way! Still, hoping he can come back better than ever.

This sucks, but on the bright side – maybe this knee surgery will help Timelord. Maybe he will return next season as a serviceable backup center.

It lets other young players get a chance at minutes. Bari could play more at the 5. Murray could work his way in the rotation.

Plus, this allows us to tank more without raising eyebrows.

Poor dude. Oh well, get him right and he can still play a role in the future.

Classic blazers big man knee injury, some things never change

He already came back early once & fucking ruined his body in the process. Dude just needs to do the long surgery & get it all fixed best as possible, not only for the franchise but also for his own future.

Patellar injury? Not what I expected. Hopefully the team and Rob are aligned on a comprehensive repair versus cleanup. It’s not the same knee he had a meniscectomy on, but given his weird arterial condition, you want to give him the best possible opportunity for long term health. Ideally that would give him the whole off-season to rehab and build game shape properly then can cement himself in the rotation or build his trade value by next deadline.

Not even 10 games in, and we have three rotation players out. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
