I don’t know what to do against Luka on defense but I don’t like our strategy in this one. We were doubling him aggressively, but pretty high on the court.
He’s good enough to pass out of the double and then the Mavs had 4 on 3 possessions with the our defense having to chase.
I think I’d rather see us stay on home on the role players and live with the Luka buckets.
Mosely is absolute trash as coach, can’t make any adjustments after the half
y’all are blaming the officials like Mosley didn’t throw this game by himself. 2nd q we had the 14 pt lead, he let Ingles basically turn the ball over 4-5 possessions in a row, no timeout or sub.
4th Q he had us in a zone our players couldn’t figure out how to get a stop in and had our guys double the screen on Luka who every single possession made the pass to the short roll who then hit the cutter every single possession for a layup or freethrows. AB got multiple stops straight up on Luka, Suggs didn’t do as well but still had a stop or 2. You can’t tell me this game isn’t on Mosley.
On offense he just has our C in the dunkers spot/freethrow line with Paolo posting and has our wings cutting, THATS 3 DEFENDERS CONTESTING PAOLO FOR FREE. This loss is 100% on Mosley this shit had absolutely nothing to do with bad referees. Even with Suggs bricking open 3s this was absolutely winnable but Mosley got outcoached the same way we lost our 1st Lakers game. Beyond frustrating to watch.

Yeah the refs had their dirty little fingers on this one but the third order is what really killed us. Hopefully this is not another year of abysmal, offense and injuries
Good offense beats good defense every day
Very hard for Paolo to deal with those late double teams when he has no shooters to kick to. Biggest adjustment Dallas made and it absolutely broke us.
It ain’t the refs, it’s the coach
Refs were def frustrating but the true issue is paolo has no chance to score consistently when nobody is respected from the 3 point line. Also Mose doubling luka everytime was so stupid he’s too good and always passed out of it perfectly and they scored
Nephews will try and blame this on refs and Mosley. Completely ignoring we shot like shit, Franz was a non factor, and the players they wanted Mosley to pull were some of the only players putting in positive minutes.
Players got their mentals broken by the Mavs. Next game it and move on. Team will look much better when Fultz is back.
Absolutely inexcusable we keep coming into the 3rd quarter and playing like absolute garbage. It’s enough of a trend by now that the blame is entirely on Mosley for doing nothing to effectively fix an extreme issue that’s been plaguing us since he’s been here. We can’t shit the bed for an entire quarter every game and expect to win against good (or even competent) teams.

Bad loss considering you were up by 13 and end up losing by 15.
I get people being mad at the refs, and they were bad, but that would probably be an afterthought if this team were decent offensively. Some of that is on our youth but we also don’t have guys that can shoot and the ones that can are either injured rn or barely play.
Until Weltman decides to invest more in guys that can shoot, games like this are gonna happen with this team, folks.
Like I said before, maybe this is a young team thing, but man, the third is always dead for us. Just a comedy of errors for us.
Team played like shit in the second half, except for Cole in the 4th. Not much to say beyond that.
I’m looking forward to seeing Anthony Black develop, but nobody can convince me he is ready to be the starting PG. We can’t just have him out there standing in the corner for 32 minutes.
Usually I don’t get pissed when the magic lose but this one has pissed me the fuck off. Another third quarter collapse, a horrible game by Franz (he’s shooting 39% this season what the fuck has happened), and the refs didn’t help (not like our team woulda won anyways). Hated this game

Awful second half. I feel like all 8 of Paolo’s turnovers were awful avoidable ones.

The referees or a referee were some idiots. This was a good game actually, we just needed a little more defensive endurance…or offensive endurance since we got stale near the end.
Anyways, the boys are harmonizing. Just have to make sure they’re getting the right pitch in the right key most of the time. We don’t even have the rest of the team yet, so there’s still more figuring out that needs to be done. But hey, we’re still like 50% and in good standing for playoff contention.
That 2nd half was atrocious. Spacing was so bad Paolo was gettng tripled team in the paint.
Im now mildly concerned at Suggs. We all love what he brings on the defensive end but his offense is just so bad. This is his third year now, he should be showing some signs of improvement. Its still early in the season tho and I hope he ends up proving me wrong
Third quarter was terrible because shots weren’t falling, but fourth quarter was abominable. Players making some pretty terrible mistakes, errant passes, butterfinger misses and became worse with some questionable calls from the refs.
Other NBA crowds would’ve brought some energy and made some noise during their teams slump. Our arena was quiet the entire second half.

Young teams like Orlando are going to have nights like this. Disappointing loss, but they are light years ahead of last year.
Missing two of our starters hurts. Fultz just makes our offense go and WCJ is a more complete player than Goga.
On a side note I hope Cole Anthony becomes a magic lifer. Probably the only player trying to pump everyone up and trying his best. He seems to have embraced the sixth man role the way I wish Fournier would have in our past team.
Not much to say except good teams close out. That’s not to say we aren’t good but this is that next step they need to take. No one to blame in particular. I mean you could but there’s a little to go all around imo. Chin up fellas.
Franz is uncharacteristically shooting terribly from the field this season. Also, Suggs is not spacing the floor at all,. It’s year 3 for him and still no improvement on offense from him.
The one positive from tonight is they probably try Jett over houstan now
We were definitely missing Fultz in that second half. Offense was directionless.
