Milwaukee Bucks defeat the Brooklyn Nets behind 36 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Bucks got their first road victory of the season, defeating the Nets 129-125 in Brooklyn. Giannis was outstanding with 36 points, the Bucks “bench mob” came to play and we saw more drop coverage — amongst other defensive coverages. Camille Davis and Frank Madden discuss the victor, plus a lot more, in today’s episode of Locked on Bucks.

  1. Lopez has been pretty awful this season, save for the game vs knicks. He looks so lost at times and his offense looks terrible.

This game plan shoulda been simple, use brook in the paint while nets have no true center to stop him but no.. they decide to have him camp outside

  2. how many 3 second calls need to happen before they get out of the lane

  3. Some early assessment of the bucks:

    1) Giannis n dame seem to play better without each other so far with more freedom to operate at their comfort level. Together they both feel so hesitant.

    2) Jae crowder rounding back to his finals run season form which is great news. And he should be starting instead of malik.

    3) Khris middleton reminding us that when healthy , he can still be lethal as a 3rd scorer

    4) brook lopez is the biggest concern I have thus far. He is nowhere near the production level he's had the season prior. At this rate, it seems the best move for bucks is to go the 2021 route, start jae or get a tucker like 4, and get giannis to play the 5 against smaller ball teams

    5) whole bucks unit seems to be playing at a much lower energy level than one would like. They aleays seem so lackadaisical and get beaten or struggle against younger quicker and more energetic opponents.

  4. Great victory I don't want to hear about a guy going off for forty five, there's elite scores in this league I seen this young guy go off at least five or six times last season It's nice to have large victory margins but as I watch the scores on a nightly basis. These games are mostly won in the last 5 minutes. It's extremely early but I love this coaches philosophy. He doesn't let his players rot on the bench when they're capable of putting in minutes. On the floor unlike the predecessor here I love the versatility of this team Maybe they pick up a wing after the All Star break. First, I'll have to see how we match up against Boston this year.

  5. I believe that when Giannis is given the three-pointer so defiantly, he should shoot it (as long as he practices). Right call. Αnyway its regular season .

  6. Comments full of crybabies. Makes me not want to come here daily.

Its always something new . Just relax. Yall sound like children

  7. I never thought in a million years I'll say this but gud to see Frank bak at least he's a local home-grown guy not like that all the way across the world dude who probably only been to Milwaukee once if that🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️….but on the bright side Camille put on an awesome show as usual….I'm mos definitely locked in

  8. Here’s my comment for the day:
Watching giannis shoot 3s is painful but watching Ben Simmons scared shitless to shoot the ball or get fouled resulting in FTs is even MORE painful. Coming off a game where giannis shot 100% 3-3 from deep, it makes logical sense that he wanted to make one land.
Psychologically, the positive benefits of landing that ONE shot was more significant to giannis than the pain it caused fans.
Ppl love to criticize the 3 shot, but it’s often clutch when it does fall. I’d rather he take them and miss than be afraid to take the shot 🤷‍♀️

But yeah. Pass the damn ball to dame pls Giannis… even though your 3pt% is higher than dame so far 😅

ETA: I’d like a hard cutoff of 3 Giannis 3 attempts—I think he actually kept shooting them to not damage his 3 pt percentage with a 0% 😂

  9. Once Giannis learns how to play offense without bringing up the ball, the dynamic duo will dominate. But he’s still too used to being the guy. He’ll get there eventually

  10. I know it's early but it's almost hard to believe the quality of looks the defense is giving up almost every possession. It's either a blow-by for an easy midrange jumper or layup, or a kickout for a completely uncontested three. Beyond that, the transition defense is remarkably bad. Would love to see some improvement there because you simply can't win series against a good team in the playoffs with this defense right now.

  11. Heres my take. Khris STILL got it. Giannis need to stop taking so many 3s. Especially when dame is on the court. Drive and kick out. You will draw a double or triple team. Jae is definitely playing like Phoenix Jae. The bench has been doing there thang. Knocking down 3s playing defense. Beasley need to come off the bench. Giving Jae or Marjon that role. Lastly, Dame need to be more aggressive.
