    On Track for 77-5

Knicks made 10 more 3’s (46%) and Spurs had 10 more turnovers…that’ll do it

    Go Spurs Go

  2. How the hell did we add a generational talent and somehow regress?

  3. SongYoungbae

Did Wemby give his jersey to someone?

  4. Equivalent_Bet1519

Sochan with the efficient 16/6/5. Yall can’t blame him tonight

Truth is that this is just a young and bad team. We will struggle to win 35 games and will be picking in the top 5 next draft but thats perfectly fine as long as we see good developmnt from the young guys

  5. Yours_and_mind_balls

All aboard tank train!?!? Choo choo????

  6. jackman_fan

It’s actually really nice to see Wemby not get too discouraged and started doing well in the fourth. Hope Devin’s injury wasn’t aggravated. On to the next gsg

  7. DriveForFive219

Nephews in the game thread need to calm down lol. Wemby had the worst game of his life still had 14 and 8. This is a PROCESS

  8. SongYoungbae

Perk already look smug. What a loser

  9. bythegodless

I watch the games to see their growth as the season progresses

    – me whenever the team plays not so good

  10. Bonesawisready5

We will he lucky to win 22 games. Team doesn’t run plays at all. Wemby needs to work on his conditioning so much to not get so tired and out of effort. So many times he could’ve shut down Knicks offense and didn’t even try.

Hopefully we can get Castle and or Proctor/Collier on the draft

  11. eeveeritt15

on this 3 game losing streak, teams made 19 3’s a game. just incredibly hot shooting, or incredibly bad defense. at least sochan played amazing tonight. good decisions to punish mismatches and just making the right plays and also shot 3s well. wemby struggled for 3 quarters and had a mini spurt in the 4th to continue his double digit scoring streak.

I’m just glad they fought back and made it mildly interesting in the 4th. the learning streak continues

  12. Uncle_Freddy

I’m getting tired of seeing teams make what feels like every open shot against us lol. On to the next one

  13. Raspadit

Well, Pop the coaching GOAT needs more in-game coaching as good as he speaks of developping these young players in training and outside the actual games.

There is no in-game coaching anywhere, everyone is free to make anything whitout consequenses.

I undertstand this is his long term plan somehow, but these young blood need some kind a structure in-game, or they will loose confidence in themselves and to eachothers.

And it’s starting to show. 🙁

  14. Nightmist82

well that was brutal but Wemby had to have a really bad night sooner or later, on to the next guys.

  15. Thehelloman0

We really need to bring that effort we did in the fourth quarter all the time.

  16. Then-Activity7226

Gonna be plenty more of these types of games but just gotta keep at it.

  17. Sochan looks more comfortable on the offense today but did not match very well to Brunson. Wemby is still learning how to let the game flow to him, he’s forcing too much things on both ends

  18. VeniceRapture

Pop needs to not be so mellow out there. It’s been a season and then some of this terrible defense.

  19. Fiyukyoo

I just need to see improvement on D. There will be nights like tonight where your shots don’t fall, but if you play good D then game is always within reach. Sucks to see 2 games in a row where the opposing team’s 3pt% is out of this world

  20. Datboy_98

    Our perimeter defense is ASS

We need to tighten up or get some scouting done for a defensive specialist

  21. rattatatouille

Honestly aside from giving up all those 3s I liked this game.

  22. 1966jpgr

I don’t know how many times I have to yell each game, “stop sagging off your fucking man” and “stop fucking helping in the paint” lol

Like Tre, you’re 6 feet tall. Why are you leaving your guy in the corner and rotating to the paint??

  23. CoffeeRaider

Lol Bally Sports thinks I’m gonna pay $20 a month to see Sochan at PG instead of actual PGs. Why isn’t Devonte Graham playing? Tired of these frustrating lineups man, it’s been years.

You got your generational talent, competitive losses okay. Getting blown out is inexcusable.

  24. I was really frustrated that the Spurs ran no plays to get Wemby the ball inside other than throwing him the ball against Mitchell Robinson and Hartenstein in the post, who can both easily push Wemby out of position and make him take tough shots. No cross screens or pindowns like in Phoenix to get Wemby the ball in good places, just “here you go” post touches against great post defenders.

Then in the 4Q Mike Breen said on the broadcast that Pop told him these early games are basically to see what Wemby can and can’t do. And then it made so much sense. For Wemby, this game was to give him a trial by fire by posting him up against great post defenders. He didn’t do well but again that was to be expected.

Yeah Pop is way more patient than I am lol. From Day 1 I would be maximizing Wemby’s lob threat and using screens to get him mismatches. Screw matching him up against beasts like MRob and Hartenstein. But PATFO is training the 19-year-old for the playoff games when he’s 22, not going all out for wins now.

I’ll be honest it’s an awful watch these days with these trials for Wemby, but it’s only year 1 and we’re not even 10 games in, so time to wake up and be patient lol.

Also I gotta say, great Sochan game. That’s the vision of Point Sochan. Push the pace, hustle on D, occasional mismatch postup vs the other team’s PG. He was super high energy tonight. IMO the most energy he’s shown this season, which might show he’s slowly getting more comfortable in his role. He looked like Baylor Sochan tonight which I had missed since in earlier games Grayson Allen was blowing by him and Scottie Barnes was dunking on him.

Patience is hard but the vision is there, and I respect PATFO’s patience. GSG

  25. 7squish

Our defense is just praying the other team will miss open 3s. Branham in particular is terrible. It feels like whenever he’s in the game the other team goes on a run. I’d rather have Osman start over him. Rough night, but all we can do is hope we learn and come into the next game better.

  26. paxusromanus811

That was a rough one. But at least there was a tangible increase in communication and effort in that second half. In the end though, they never really could figure out how to properly rotate to the three-point shooters. Even when we made our run it came down to the next missing shots. And as soon as they started hitting them again they got right back to having a blowout

For now I get what pop is doing and I’m cool with him. Continuing his Victor can do whatever he wants and we’re not going to run any set offense for him and put him in a box thing…

But at some point it would be really nice for San Antonio to get some nice set design to plays to get Victor touches in the paint.

Using him as a jump shooter is such a waste. That’s going to become an important part of his game at some point, and the threat of it will be important for allowing him to keep defenses honest so he can utilize the rest of his skills

But both him and the team let him settle way too quickly for those shots. He’s a guy who’s confidence and ability goes up a lot when he’s hitting shots and opening up quarters with him. Taking a bunch of jumpers is just not a great idea

If he’s going to be doing that it needs to be coming off a flare screen or pick and pop out of the pick and roll on a nice mid-range jumper

Plenty of people have screamed about the lack of lobs so I won’t even open up that can of worms. But it’s a real problem and San Antonio definitely needs to figure out why. So many guys on the roster are either afraid to throw lobs, not looking for the lob, or are absolutely terrible at it

Collins may have some solid stats but I thought he was dreadful tonight. He was getting moved around and pushed around by every big man on New York. Harstein absolutely at work him on the glass two or three times and on multiple occasions Zach got caught ball watching when Victor went out to defend on the perimeter and allowed Mitchell Robinson to get an easy offensive rebound

Johnson had a nightmarish game honestly. It was all the worst attributes about him boiled into one unfortunate game. As much as Victor took shots and missed pretty much every jumper, and was by far the worst on defense, he’s been as a spur…. Johnson was a big big big reason. San Antonio got into a hole early and often.. He was over helping so bad and leaving his man wide open. A good handful of those quickly/ Barrett/ brunson first half threes came off of KJ over helping on a rotation or failing to rotate at all as the help defender. I’ve been a big supporter of his improved defense but my goodness was he bad tonight. And when things started to get out of control he forced the issue. Some really silly turnovers and out of control shots.

Malachi gave Johnson a run for his money on terrible defensive rotations tonight. That’s about all I can say. He was a non-factor as a playmaker, he didn’t put pressure on the rim. He hit a few shots which he usually does but he did very little positive for me

Jeremy was actually a huge, huge bright spot. We can talk conspiracy theorist about his lack of passing to Victor and he definitely misses him quite a bit… But I thought all in all he was the only guy who didn’t look like he was in his own head all night. He methodically hunted for mismatches and did a good job exploiting them, he was one of the few players throwing himself at the rim to help on the glass. When Victor was on the perimeter or Collins was being overwhelmed, he didn’t make any high level passes, but he made some smart ones and his three-pointer looked good. San Antonio needs to find a way to get Victor more paint touches while simultaneously also utilizing Jeremy as a mismatch creator in the block. The Spurs can’t keep getting away with allowing teams to put their point guards on him on the other end. He punished the next today and the Spurs would be wise to utilize that more often

Doug McDermott had a second really solid game. He hit shots, his defense actually looked solid compared to Malachi and Johnson, and he played with his typical no hesitation confidence which this team really needed on a night where they looked like. They never thought they had a chance to win this game

Charles bassey had a few solid moments but I thought He had a few really really poor moments on defense where he went for the block that he had no chance of getting and allowed offensive rebounds or easy access to the rim for a score. He added some physicality but looked outclassed against harstein Most of the night.

I thought Jones had an up and down game. I thought he was a steady hand for the most part but he was uncharacteristically off at at finding the easy opportunities for his teammates. He missed Victor, Collins, and Charles on unguarded opportunities at the rim, Victor several times, and he validated a lot of people who point his defense as a reason why he shouldn’t start. He did a terrible job on quickly. Consistently gave him way too much space. With that said, I thought he took it right to quickly on the other end. And did it really good job in transition. Allen, all he was one of the better performers on a night were most of the team really struggled

  27. Blutz101

On the bright side we’re showing alotta positives signs for a young team. Weve been just get going really late into games and we’re clearly super young. We need to learn how to make good tight and smart passes. Alotta time with us it’s not the pass but the effort on the pass
