Utah Jazz post game show: Keyonte George shines in debut

Keyonte George got the start for the Utah Jazz and was great with his first time taking control of the team. Lauri Markkanen continues to have a great season for the Jazz and it’s very likely he works his way to an all star team this year again with how well he’s played.

  1. clarkson never should have been resigned. Sexton and THT have shown no growth since last season. Jazz have a long season ahead.

  2. It would be interesting to trade Clarkson. Because he shoots so much who would replace hit output of shots

  3. All time hoops nerd rant for sure lol, clarkson I believe has had a rough stretch and still deserves to play on this team. Out of tht, sexton, and dunn, 1 or 2 need to be moved around. Loved keyonte out with the starters and staying confident

  4. Thanks for going off on the coaching naysayers. I lost it when I started seeing attacks coming up here and on Locke’s show. I felt like I’d be trolling to even try to respond to the idiots. so, thanks for taking care of business for both of us.

Frank Layden valued each turnover as worth -1.5 points. Some of our fouling might as well be counted as turnovers too.

KG’s 2 fouls were lockups totally preventing a shot. He’s a smart player. He said he loved us after the game too Nerd. What a superstar.

I can take the losing if we get to watch KG learn his craft. Go KG. Jazz Rule.

  5. Hahaha! Thanks for calling out all the stupid heads! 😁 Keyonte is being brought along slowly like they did Kessler. Good thing, too. Kessler played for Team USA which I think wore his mind out a bit from the stress.

  6. You know who else these coaching trolls are attacking; DA and Mr. Smith. Uncalled for Nerd. Thanks again for your rant. It was like music to my ears.

  7. I think the only thing the coach could do is sit guys entire games for playing terribly 2-3 games in a row. Give them more motivation to play better. I don't think he's incentivizing them enough on the defensive end.

Too many guys are pretty lazy on defense right now. We used to call it "matador defense" with Carlos Boozer. The only way to counter that is to go all out on offense. That worked back then. However, these days, half the league is better on offense than we are. So the best we could achieve is a .500 season.

  8. My recommendation is to just forget this half-tank garbage. It rarely ever works. We need elite athletes to compete in today's NBA. We only have a handul right now. Otherwise, you have to be very skilled, if you're a starter. The bench can be a mix of specialists but we need at least 4-7 elite athletes. Then mix them in with a balance of high BB IQ and really big guys that can guard guys like Jokic.

  9. Ochai does a lot of stuff that doesn't show up on the stat sheet and I'm really quite impressed with his defense. When he's on the floor his impact isn't obvious but it's definitely there

  10. Another take of mine, I've watched a lot of teams this year, practically everyone and I don't think there's a guy who has quite as much of a negative impact as Colin Sexton (and THT/clarkson sometimes). Colin flat out kills momentum, his selfishness throws plays outright, and to make things worse he can't defend, I know people have complained but he's quite literally this years Rudy Gay lol

  11. my problem with Will Hardy is why does he let our opponents go on massive scoring runs when we either have the lead or are a barely behind, before he uses a timeout to make some adjustments?

  12. for me most reliable guard supposed to be K Dunn, but boy he turn the ball over too much this season :/ (but at last he makes other teams to turn the ball over too)
On top of that, moving the ball (and even turnovers) are not the biggest issues with this team. Its defense. you can shoot the ball like a toddler, but if your opponent is going to shoot the ball like a slug, you are going to win the game. Collins is defensively unaware (20 mln taken from salary cap space), Olynyk is just slow. our guards with the exception of Dunn are illiterate on defensive too.
    Give us D. Bane!

  13. Sexton got rejected twice in a row from the same spot. THT needs to improve his BBIQ. Hardy is gonna need his guys to play Defense not just score from 3.

  14. I think many are missing the big picture. It's the launch year of Jazz+ and JC has a huge international following. Ryan and Danny won't trade Jordan this year and take a business hit when there won't be a deep playoff run either way.

I think Sexton should be on a trade though… He's good at driving so Danny could fool a lesser GM to buy. Collin has too many downsides and he's not a rookie anymore.

This might be a silly take but I'd love to see more Ochai+Simone and Dunn+Keyonte. Talen is a mystery for me; sometimes he's a star, other times he's sleeping on the court.

  15. 16:37 Hoops Nerd is lucky that an NBA ref wasn't watching this or he'd have gotten tossed from his own show for all those claps
