Do you agree with Carlisle that this was Mathurin's best-ever game?
Nembhard was the main key to victory. The only guy who was able to stop/take care of Clarkson (on top of many other things).
One major difference was that they opened up and shared more, particularly with Nesmith.

Looks GREAT when playing with Nembhardt most definitely does not when playing with Haliburton.
And no, he was playing with Utah starters. Either Carlisle is telling Haliburton not to look for him to score or Haliburton is purposely not getting Him involved. Carlisle's job is to figure it out. If they do, this Pacer team could win 50 games.
Nembhardt was great tonight. Buddy was absolutely terrible and thank God Carlisle put him out his misery the rest of the 4th quarter.
Buddy played well over the weekend for the most part though missed a key free throw against Charlotte. Inexplicably Shot a logo 3 and turned the ball over all in the last couple minutes. Winning time. Cements my stance he's not a winning basketball player.
He was targeted all night by Utah and shot wide open air balls and bricks. If Carlisle would have kept him in the 4th quarter Pacers might have lost.
It takes every ounce of his energy to play well and it's not sustainable . The way Buddy played tonight was the way he played last 35-40 games last season.
They've got to realize Nesmith needs to become more involved. I've been advocating for him since the end of last season and knew Jalen would be a great backup C as well. He plays bigger than Turner. Even though Turner does great in his own offense and defense. Smith will drive hard and catch putbacks. More physical, so that's nice to have. Shoots it well too and as much as I like Brown. I want to see more Nesmith. He's a long term piece imo. Brown idk.. Nesmith sticks to his man like glue and he's efficient. He's not getting plays, or even consistent shot chances and still does well when he gets the ball. That's very impressive and important when you see that. You have to reward him with a few ran plays as well at some point. Nesmith and Mathurin should be starters imo..
Also they talk about Mathurin being more of a passer. Yet I'm more wanting to see a lot more quick passing, cutting and dishing from Nembhard as well. Because he has the skills to do so. Yet he's more a Combo shoot first. Which is great because he can make them. Yet still, the more he gets other's involved. Not saying that he doesn't, but if he tried to make that more of a focus at time's. Keep the ball moving. He could elevate his game to another level. Because his ball handling is so good as well. Can create for himself, he can do those handle and set other's up as well. They need to have set, run plays. Chemistry and getting used to eachother. Knowing how and when to set up teammates will take us a long way. Great game, Jazz aren't the best. But they have some really good offensive player's. Ainge has done well and they move the ball well. Beat some good team's. Good win for us tonight and chemistry builder.
Ppl need to realize this is Ben Mathurin 2nd season and first as a starter as well lol. He's also playing out of position imo. Which puts him in a box a bit and against bigger/stronger wings at time's. He should be a SG and playing against guy's also more focused on shooting. Wings look to play more D and lockdown those guy's who shoot. So that's making his job much more difficult at time's. Then if you put him at the top of the key with a bigger SF, he has to shoot over, or blow past them. I know basketball has become somewhat position less. However there definitely need to be night's where it's realized who your matchups are. Put him in the best position to be successful. He also needs to keep up the shooting to be a true SG as well. Which he's always had a great shot and I think he's better on the move. He's feeling that stepback. Let him cook.
Turner been seeing my messages about hitting the gym. Building up those arms and core?? Lol Should be a beast by now. We need him to be able to hold bigger C's better.
I think Smith has the better post defense, or at least the potential. Turner is well rounded, but Smiths defense is underrated. It's Giannis quickness, raw athleticism. Obi chasing him and the Turner switching onto him may be the answer. Build a wall and pray. I also see the trying of Nesmith and Smith.. Gotta throw everyone at Giannis and see what works. A lot of switching basically. Lopez is a solid defender, but Obi's athleticism if he uses it to his advantage could bother Lopez at time's. The only thing is will he box out and out body Obi? Might need him to chase Giannis in the first. Then once thing's slow down, put in Smith. Better post defender and box out rebounder.

All I want out of basketball and football for that matter is a good officiated game. I worry about all the gambling and how it affects the leagues. I know that is random. Good game pacers.
I'd have Ben guard Giannis. Use his strength and have obi and Myles wall the bucket
