Sacramento Kings star Malik Monk shares his thoughts on sports betting “Idc bout yall parlays.”

“Idc bout yall parlays,” Monk tweeted early Thursday morning. And in a special guest appearance, his Sacramento Kings teammate Kevin Huerter joined the show to let bettors know he also doesn’t care about their parlays. “Respectfully,” Huerter chimed in with. In summary

There’s nothing I hate more than sitting next to dudes at games who are cheering or booing based solely on whether their bets will hit. Some of these dudes then have the audacity to harass players who don’t help them win money that night.

Love my guy Malik (hey guys did you know Malik means king in Arabic 🤓) but man he’s getting cooked in these replies 🤣🤣

  3. DepressedT-wolvesFan

The way betting has taken over sports is crazy to me. Dudes will hate players cause they got 11 rebounds instead of 12. That’s not fandom that’s just degeneracy.

Neither does anyone else. Gambler culture is So annoying and it’s even more annoying that it’s legal now. I’m tired of listening to podcasts without being bombarded by it.

Don’t think gambling should be illegal but it shouldn’t be so openly supported by the industry, should be treated like tobacco, not allow advertising on Tv And shouldn’t be able to just set up shop on college campuses

Gambling sucks, but I understand why sports leagues love advertising it. I’ve done some dark stuff like tuning into a Pacers-Jazz game in the middle of November.

As a former gambler and a avid NBA fan prior and currently, everyone gets tricked into thinking it’s going to be a perfect marriage, the end result being to profit on your nba knowledge by putting together some parlays.

Sooner than you know it you grow to hate the game, you can’t watch it the same way, you don’t get the regular enjoyment out of it, you just get stress.

Nothing is more boring and sad than adults talking about their bets. These are people that have no insight on the sport they’re watching beyond gambling terms, not real fans imo. Legalized gambling is also ruining sports media, I hate it.

if u want to make money off basketball just become an nba player lol. are the dudes betting on games just stupid?

  10. TrashAssRedditAdmins

This is only going to get worse as fans heckle players about their stupid bets and fantasy sports. Hate they made gambling such a major part of sports and sports coverage. They’ve got like 5 years before the backlash starts

  11. jjkiller26

He’s getting cooked in the replies, same with kevin huerter. twitter is hilarious sometimes

  12. mxgicjohnson

If ur betting on Malik monk you might have an issue

  13. bravof1ve

You can thank Adam Silver for letting this crap into the league

  14. legless_chair

Ottawa Senators player Shane Pinto got suspended 41 games because he did some gambling. The Senators have Bet365 decals on their helmets. League have to pick one or the other.

  15. jumboponcho

I don’t gaf about gambling, but it’s funny how it’s always the one who had a trash stat line saying this. Huerter’s shitty shootin ass co-signing it was the icing on the cake

  16. Rubberbabeh

TIL Malik Monk and K’Von Huerter are my favorite players.

  17. ObviousAnswerGuy

I gamble but I still think this shit 100% shouldn’t be allowed to be promoted by the league

  18. MikeyBastard1

The stream service I use to watch game has twitch chat embedded right next to the stream. The amount of degeneracy that goes on regarding players hitting a certain threshold so they can win their money is crazy.

Before game 1 of last years finals, ESPNs entire pregame coverage was just asking what players will hit which of their over unders. That was it. We had the first ever play-in to finals team with an elite and exotic defense going against the most dominant offensive player in the game and all they wanna ask is if jamal Murray is gonna hit 5 assists or not

  20. I think it’s wild how every single podcast by NBA players is heavily sponsoring and promoting gambling like it’s a good thing.

  21. raiderjaypussy

As someone who sports bets a TON, the culture of it all is so fucking annoying. Especially people who harass the players. Lowest form of humanity irregardless

  22. fellowbeenmellow

What’s he upset about, his PAR was 23.5 for +110 on the over against Portland.

My man went OFF last night. Did his job.

  23. I was sitting in $200 seats at Barclays and 3 dudes in my section were on their phones gambling. It was nuts. We were reacting to the game, they were reacting to their phones. In the middle of a dead ball a random “Oh, fuck” would ring out.

Like, why even come to the game if you’re just gonna do that?

  24. lebigdonglupo

That’s how I feel when people post their gambling comments on this subreddit. Fuck off

  25. I think it’s okay that it’s legal. I have a problem with all the advertising.

  26. FriendlyPipesUp

My parlays don’t care about Monk mediocre ass either so that works

  27. DatKidLos

This^^^ if you bet on any sport you’re just as dumb as the people promoting the idea of betting on sports
