At least we didn’t get blown out by 40. Progress!
I feel like wemby should be touching the ball damn near every possession
I really liked the effort, much better. That lineup down the stretch is niceeee too
Time: it’s gonna take some of it
Death, taxes, and a Spurs 3rd quarter fumble.
In all seriousness tho, they played great, especially Vassell and Wemby, can’t be too mad at this loss.
Classic turd quarter from our guys
Sochan and Keldon combined -17 Ooof
This team is still ass. There are two guys and only two guys who matter.
Good game, obvious mistakes but lots of growth. Wemby and Vaseeñl are great
Less shitty than previous games. Get fuckin Wemby the ball more. Shitty lineups still. Devin allergic to 30+ points im dead he had a great game tho
what a change having vassell is. wish we made some changes so the 3Q wasn’t so damaging. we saw how wemby at the 5 is the future, just not something that he can run full time just yet, but glad they made it competitive
Overall great effort from the boys. Just need to be more disciplined on defense and cut on them turnovers
Vassell and Wemby are fun to watch. That’s about it.
We’re a different team with Devin playing a full game.
Looking a lot better this game, still need to work on a lot of stuff, but this was progress. Devin and Wemby balling out is nice to watch, we need the supporters to kick into gear now.
This loss was a shit ton better than the last few
Great to have Vassell back.. m sure we will turn it around soon
At least the guys actually competed this time, less stupid decisions (tho still plenty) and played some semblance of defense. Good games from wemby and vassell. Sochan still needs to do better at finding wemby
y’all better realize soon we are not contending this year, instead of wanting our sophomore dead cause he makes mistakes while playing in a new role
So Pop knows his best finishing lineups but he’s not starting Tre at PG.
Is this a stealth tank?
And where the heck is Devonte Graham? What is going on?
Pop is going to remind Wemby he doesn’t need to go for those reaches. He tends to do that when he’s outside the play as well. He’ll learn though.
Good Wemby game and we didn’t lose by 40, I call that a successful night by our standards
So we lost but this rookie we got this year scored 29 pts, and posted 9 rbs while playing against Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert. I’m super stoked for our future.
Don’t mind this loss. Loved the effort and saw passion in our guys’ faces. Also we didn’t get blown out by 50 against the best defense in the league.
glad that wemby didn’t get bullied by gobert down low. also possible that gobert has an incentive not to go at him too hard given the olympics is this summer and france is gonna need wemby
Wemby doing that against a great defensive team is bonkers as a rookie! Good loss but still sucks of course. Keldon would be better off the bench, I thought we were gonna do that after the rumors over the summer. Sochan, sigh. Goodnight everyone.
The court looked really awesome in person, also was dope hearing the whole stadium go crazy when wemby hit that dame 3!
Wolves ability to create contact inside while threatening the rim off the dribble with Kat and Edwards was the difference really, Spurs lack that.
I value the progression that vic and vassell would make with tre running point over the progression that Jeremy will inevitably make out of his time at point rn. Not saying vassell and Vic can’t/won’t improve with the lineups as they are, but dude.. we’re compromising them to a degree for sochan, EVEN THO sochan’s court vision and playmaking is GUARANTEED to marginally improve with vassell always coming off curls, having his crazy elevation on his jumper, having the great finishing he does, etc., and oh not to mention he’d have wemby hanging around all over the court not only now, but deeep into his future here alongside wemby.
We have Wemby. Nothing else should matter
Tre’s improvement has been great. Like, I used to think he’d probably get cut because he can’t shoot the 3 and can’t score inside before. Now I’m like, give the ball to Tre!
We’re 1 PG away from competing for the play-ins but I rather take a game like this with our experimental line up so they can grow for next year then try to compete to be killed in the playoffs. If the Jeremy at PG experiment fail then so be it but at least its worth a shot
It’s like people don’t know their roles. Everybody wants to score. Like it should run through Tre/Devin then Wemby then everybody play around them.
See how the Nuggets is running so smoothly because their role players know their roles.
Imagine if:
Pop told bruce bowen to run pg then have tony come off the bench
Have sean elliot run the pg and have avery come off the bench
Kawhi run pg and have tony or patty mills come off the bench
Richard jefferson rung pg and have tony come off the bench
Robert horry run pg and have tony come off the bench
See how dumb that sounds?
Brownie points for narrowing the gap in the 4th, but the less-intentional tank rolls on.
Also for future iterations of this tournament, can we not have it be separated by East and West? Just draw the groups randomly from all 30 teams
One day someone will have the Balls to call out Pop.
The point Sochan experiment is gonna send me to an early grave.
Wolves fan here. Wanted to say that your’e team is fun to watch. I mean Wemby is awesome, like jesus christ. But the rest of the team also looks fun and plays hard. Vassell was great. Do wonder what you guys think about Sochan as the playmaker. Does it have potential? Looks rocky but he is still learning ofcourse.
Wembanyama with an NBA level PG is going to torch the NBA for the next decades.
Can’t wait for when Keldon gets traded.
It’s funny it doesn’t feel like Wemby got 21 shots, even when he scores high like this it feels like they should’ve found him for 20 more
Branham’s supposedly defining trait is he’s a pure shooter, but he’s 31% from 3 on the season which is basically identical to his 30% year last year — at what point do we start growing concerned?
I feel bad for Sochan. His coach is putting him in a position to fail for no other reason than he just wants him in the starting lineup. You can see it on his face and body language that it’s getting to him and we haven’t even played 10 games yet. There are lots of ways to tank and get a high pick but we shouldn’t be possibly ruining the confidence of a young player to do it. I think Sochan would be great as a short rolling big who can score and facilitate out the post but I would rather just straight up trade him if all we are going to do is play him out of position for the sake of…I legit don’t even know what the point of him at point is other than he just has to start.
I know this sub will go nuclear at this comment, but I don’t think Pop is a good coach anymore and hasn’t been one for a few years now. Playing a player with absolutely no point guard skills at point guard is just flat out dumb. It will be proven to be even more dumb when we just straight up draft, sign, or trade for a point guard and Sochan goes back to power forward. He is not going to get better at being a point guard because he does not have any point guard skills to start with. People bashing him over it need to realize the dude is playing out of position and playing a position where none of his skills translate. People thinking he is going to somehow figure it out and get really good at it need to realize he’s not because he just doesn’t have a base to work from, he doesn’t have a skillset to grow. All the other players are suffering because of this to. Zach is overtaxed in the paint because Sochan is on the perimeter so much. Anything we do off ball is almost useless because Sochan is just not a good enough passer to make the right pass at the right time and that is not a knock on him dude is a power forward it shouldn’t even be his job to make those type of passes. Keldon is just hero balling cause he know he not going to get any clean looks in the flow of an offense. Wemby is just doing whatever and shooting whatever cause he know he not going to get any clean looks in the flow of an offense.

We are in the Bobby Bowden years with our coach. I can only hope Pop decides to retire at the end of this year or next year cause we are not going to get better as a team with him on the sideline, and we are in the process of ruining one of our two top 10 picks by putting him in a position to fail with no end game in site.

We got two 1st round pick guards in Branham and Wessley who we need to find out if they can play point guard or not but we playing a natural power forward at point guard instead. We are also playing veteran players like McDermott and Osman over them which gives us less time to find out about them. Awful resource management. Thank gawd we got Victor and Devin cause the rest of this shit is BLEAK.
