Shorthanded Nets Fade Late, Fall To Celtics At Home

There is no such thing as an easy game when you take on Brooklyn. The Nets, without Ben Simmons, Cameron Johnson or Nicolas Claxton took on the undefeated Boston Celtics.

Brooklyn hung tough for awhile but they struggled to hit shots from deep and Boston was a bit too much in the fourth quarter behind Jayson Tatum and company.

  1. I can't understand why the starters played so many minutes and the bench players didn't get a better run. I mean, what was the point? I think Brooks came on with 1 minute to go and didn't even get a touch of the ball. Was Royce playing centre? Why???? Why, why, why, why, why? What is the point in having a back up center if you dont play him when the full time center is out? How ever will he gain experience and learn? How can a player show trust if he isn't given any in the first place? I can see what is going to happen going forward. These young guys when they get a real chance to play long minutes are going to be nervous about making mistakes because if they do they'll be sent straight back to the bench. Its a bloody joke. No matter how good JVs coaching skillset is, if you don't have confidence, trust, and belief in a player, that player won't perform to a high standard. Because he'll never be able to give what the coach doesn't instill in him.

  2. Bad scheduling. Always hate to see a back to back road to home or the other way around. The Nets are showing a deep bench. Fun team to watch

  3. Coach needs to use the taller players on this team. Use small lineup within game but not majority game. The Nets are a good team and I hate when people say we suck. It’s not true.

  4. Blame JV for not playing watford and brooks when bridges is gassed and cant make a shot…oneale same issue and 2-15 yet they continue to play him while sharpe looked great in his limited minutes. #firejv

  5. So….the offense ran pretty smooth without Ben. Are we now trading him too??? LOL. Ofcourse not, why would they. For all the arm chair GMs here, just let this team play, they seem pretty good. 5 games in and people want to trade half the roster.

  6. Celtics showed up in all star game mode. Nets played great, played hard and forced Celtics to get real with themselves

  7. The Nets held their own against one of the 2 best teams in the NBA. The Nets biggest strength is their bench. I watched the 76ers / Suns game yesterday, and what I’ve seen of the Nets so far this year as a team was better then either of those 2 teams. Granted, Phoenix was without Booker and Beal.

  8. I wanna give credit to these guys for fighting hard and making it a competitive game.

However, coaching was a big reason why we lost this game. Royce O’Neale should not have started and shouldn’t be treated like he’s prime Steph Curry. He took 13 3s and missed 11 of them. Despite not having size, Sharpe only played 17 minutes, Giles got a DNP, and Watford only played 5 minutes.

Not saying Vaughn was the only reason we lost, Mikal going 7-20 is inexcusable, however, when your opponents are that much for talented, the coach can’t afford to do dumb things. We don’t have KD and Kyrie to bail us out anymore

  9. Celts fan here too, just wanna say your team looks great and has some really impressive young talent, off a back2back too…not a bad loss by any means

  10. I really think a fully nets would have beaten the celtics and can beat the celtics in a 7 game series SImmons will limit Tatum Claxton will limit porzingas let bridges play brown

  11. The nets are a good team, they just deserve a better coach. And yes Doug and Adam, it's okay to be critical of the coach when you lose, despite all the aforementioned contributing factors

  12. No White for the Celtics either. I think as far as missing pieces in that game it evened out. Outcome would have been about the same. Great game from both teams for us fans.

  13. NBA rigged towards closer games —— Simmons weakness is that teams are expecting him to pass and he usually does not disappoint
