A perfect Kristaps Porzingis game in Boston Celtics blowout of Toronto Raptors

The Boston Celtics got a nice, business-like blowout win against the overmatched Toronto Raptors thanks to big games from Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. But it was Kristaps Porzingis and the perfect contribution from a third star that really stood out to John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal. All that, plus great minutes from the bench, and why Toronto’s staff needs to STFU when it comes to Joe Mazzulla’s challenge late in the game.

  1. Celtics we’re going like 70% while the Raptors tried so hard lol. Our team is just on a different level, only elite teams can beat us. Yea we might lose some games we are supposed to win but for the most part. We are smashing most teams!

  2. I noticed we have trouble with teams who have a good 7 foot center like Philly and the Wolves. It’s hard to drive in on them so it forces us to shoot more. If the shots not falling that’s when we run into trouble. Mazzula has to use Porzingis to get the big men out of the paint! That’s a main reason why we got him, teams can’t just put a big man under the rim.

  3. We have 4 players in the top 10 for plus minus in the league! That’s crazy! Tatum and Holiday are numbers 1 and 2. White and Porzingis are on the list too.

  4. These guys were so aggressive as far as going to the hole and Toronto had no answer for them. They did revert back to chucking up threes at one point but it didn’t matter. Just complete domination with the exception of that lull in the 2nd. The J’s were ridiculous putting in 56, Porzingis and Holiday were both really good and we got great minutes from Hauser and Horford. Felt like we could’ve pulled Tatum & Brown a bit earlier as you never want to see a garbage time injury but no real complaints. Just a solid performance. Thanks John☘️🔒

  5. This was a really good win. Everyone played pretty good. Glad to see Hauser shooting that thing with confidence. On to the next💪🏽

  6. So impressed by KP so far. I think his intangibles have been underrated too–esp. how much he's varying his approach game-to-game, doing whatever it takes. He says it, but he totally backs it up with how he plays.

  7. The non Tatum mins are the key to a title. Not even kidding. We have to try and become as flawless as possible. Hopefully this changes john i agree. Would also like to see late game execution improve as well when possible.

  8. Hi John, everyday listener for the past 2 years, just want to say, I appreciate you, and it’s a privilege to have a go to place to hear your thought and analysis.

  9. Hey “I played pro ball for $17.23 a game in Greece back in the late ‘80s” expert guy: why do you keep harping on Brown’s turnovers but don’t say SHIT about Tatum?

look at their stats (pull out the abacus they used to score your games in Nafplio), tell me where the massive difference is:

    Tatum 3.5apg/2.9 TOVpg = 1.21/1 ATO

    Brown 3.0apg/2.5 TOVpg = 1.2/1 ATO

I know the internet service in Greece is slow. maybe u forgot Basketball-Reference exists since u are clearly stuck in the ‘80s…

but what those stats show is Tatum averages MORE turnovers per game AND a (slightly) worse Assist-to-Turnover ratio but u are either too much of a Tatum fanboy to actually point out the REALITY of who is fumbling the ball all over the court or just too lazy to break with popular narratives & look at the statistics.

Brown doesnt own the NBA record for most turnovers in an NBA Playoff run.

Brown didnt even have the most turnovers in last year’s ECF disaster.

Brown isnt averaging more turnovers this season.

Brown doesnt have a worse A/TO ratio.

    guess who does?

the Victoria’s Secret model with the “good hair” & signature Subway sandwich that u clearly eat daily because u can’t stop being the Celtics’ #1 fan & be a real, objective analyst.

Narrative driven media is terrible. the Ukraine flags & WNBA hoodies make it clear u come from the MSNBC school of “create a narrative & stick with it even when everyone knows it’s BS.”

u will scapegoat Jaylen til your last breath while ignoring Tatum’s terrible ball protection just like your favorite news channels STILL cling to “muh Russia collusion!!”

be bettter than that. i dont know who funds these Locked on NBA channels but the company line bashing Jaylen every episode while ignoring Turnover Tatum has become one of the corniest, TwitterX driven narratives in sports.

stop it. be a journalist. just once.
