Still can’t believe this actually happened.

Hopefully his ribs heal up fine and he’s back in a month.

Out of all the things it could be….this is pretty ok. It sucks and it hurts but at least it isn’t a hand, leg or head.

Thank goodness it was only broken ribs not that you want broken anything, but cuts bruises and ribs heal, painfully but they heal, where as this could have been a whole lot worse.

    Hope he recovers quickly.

I’d imagine he’d be out til January now. 6 weeks for the ribs. Get well soon, Kelly “The Lube” Oubre.

Figured that it would be something along these lines since he was released so quickly. This is still awful, but at least it’s a “can’t play professional basketball for a while” injury and nothing career or life threatening

Probably gonna be 2-3 months at least. I cracked a few ribs a couple times and couldn’t play for about 2 months. Granted I was like 15 and a crybaby so maybe he’ll be quicker.

Such a shitty injury, just have to exist and wait. Hurts to do anything

Best of luck to him. I fractured a rib once in my life and it took over 6 months for the pain to stop and about a year for me to not be able to notice it anymore. It sucked and hurt while doing so many things. I am certainly not built like an NBA player though so I’m sure he should be much better off than I was.

That’s like a six week recovery frame right?

  9. RichieD79

Glad he is mostly ok. Hope he takes all the time he needs. Fuck basketball, I’m just happy the dude is ALIVE. Nothing but love to him.

League isn’t ready for post-car Oubre

Not a MD. But this doesn’t appear to be something that’s going to take his athleticism away. Thank God. Hopefully he make a full recovery and still have enough time to help the team and get a bigger contract next year

The internet tells me it’s a 6 week recovery. Hopefully this means he will be back by the new year.

Most importantly, Glad he’s ok 🙏🏽
If we can get him back february and acclomated back into the roatation and healthy by the playoffs we should be fine.

Broken ribs are a PITA, but if that’s the extent of it he should be able to fully recover in a month or two. Could’ve been worse. Healing vibes for our handsome boi!!

Need to get this driver off the streets for 3 years or more. Probably doesn’t even have a license or insurance.

  16. Bruce_the_Shark

Hope he heals well, and quickly. Damn.

I need that sports doctor on YouTube to tell me how long he could be out for. This whole situation sucks. Dude is balling out, Team is gelling, Vibes are finally good after what feels like forever and then now this.

Prayers to him and his family

Wow that is way better than I expected. I was expecting a compound fracture of some kind with the way they were stressing significant time. Ribs are a tough one though, gotta be fully totally healed and then you can start to get back into game shape.

Basketball aside , glad he’s relatively okay. Could’ve been a lot worse. Hoping he has a speedy recovery. Mentally , getting hit by a car stays with you for some time.

earlier rumor said tibia… am not a physician but… it seems to me that fractured ribs would be less of a problem for a basketball player than a broken leg.
