  1. Bring out the Selfish Basketball. Let Pascal and Barnes ISO on the paint. Let Gary ISO the guy isn't scoring in .5 offense this guys is a volume shooter. Last game Pascal ate the Wizards feed the ball to the best players.

  2. This video points to how lost and directionless the team is right now. Last season they traded their first round pick for a few weeks of Jakob, then after the season they fired Nurse and hired a rookie coach for “development”. They hired a coach to bring in a ball movement type of offence yet their team has horrible outside shooting and a few iso post-up players who can exploit other teams. It’s hard to look at what they’re doing and see any big overarching plan. It’s hard for a coach to really KNOW what to do with this squad.

  3. Totally concur! Adjustments based upon the particular game night (our own players circumstances) and the opponent only make perfect sense. We had our best 3 point shooters out. More adjustments when OG and Gary are back and are hitting 3 point shots.

  4. Can't agree. Aside from a few pieces, the team is positioned for the future, and as such absolutely needs to focus on developing their youth, the schemes and roster development.

I agree we need to balance that with using our beat trade assets (I.e. Pascal) in order to build up his trade value… but we have to be patient and trust in the vision.

I'm happy to lose games now in order to build a winning roster and tradition in a year a two.

  5. Unpopular opinion but I've got full confidence in Darko and Masai, as well. That's not to say that this is how I want to win games all the time but I believe that this early stretch of games has been extremely valuable in terms of building team chemistry and that once again, the Raptors are among the very best in the league in that regard. The proof is in the pudding – you cannot come back from these kinds of deficits and break the "first team to 100" rule THIS may times and call it "luck" or "bad management". IMO, the biggest obstacle that this team faces is that the timing for our expiring contracts sucks. If we had all or most of our players on for just one more year, we would be a a trade or two away from being very, VERY dangerous.

As it stands, we simply don't have the money to keep everyone on board. There are a lot of crybabies, bed-wetters, haters, and internet know-it-alls who can't wait see this roster blown up for one reason or another. Unfortunately, they will have their wish granted before the trade deadline. It's a heartbreaker because contrary to what the haters, the simpletons, and the snakes in the US sports media would have us believe, the chemistry and momentum that Masai and Darko have been building is NOT easy to do. Hell, all you need to build a superstar roster is a sunny beach, a massive media market and some idiot with a big bag of money. Time has shown that this formula might bring in stars but it does NOT bring in wins. Just ask Lebron, Kawhi, or Jimmy.

One thing we do NOT need to worry about it "letting players get away for nothing". That ain't happening so if that's on your mind, let it go. …and to anyone who ever said that you can't win with Pascal and OG on the same team… sigh It's too bad we'll probably never know. Unless you count the ring that they already won together. I know that I do.
