Can’t wait
Man, this is a super simplified analysis on how Mavs play. Mavs are like one of the worst teams in the 1st half, but when 2nd half arrives, they shoot to #1 in offensive rating, #1 in net rating, and #6 in defensive rating. It's like watching two different teams vs your own team. Anyways, you will all find out soon how weird the Mavs are this year.
Lol. The second half of all games, Mavs are a top10 defensive team.
Just so you know, Mavs have lead a total of ONE game at halftime. They have a -16 net rating in the first quarter.
However, their defense picks up to #6 defensive rating and they're #1 in offense in second halves, beating teams by +87. Their first half/second half swing is ridiculous. They even won the second half against the Nuggets, they just had dug a 20 point hole in the first half they couldn't recover from
Whats with all these Mavs fan in the comments ??
Mavs are younger more athletic , faster, motivated, connected and playing defense this season, watch out
lol… You guys do know that the Luka/Powell P&R was the most efficent combo in the entire NBA last seaon? Lively is doing great, but Powell is an exeptional screen setter and he knows exactly when and how Luka wants a pick. It might seem like Lively is more open, but thats cause opponents do not respect him rolling as much as they do when Powell rolls. He is a 19 years old rookie with 7 games experience after all. Means less help defnese from the wheak side. Means Luka/Lively more often then not have a real 2 vs 2 matchup, while Luka/Powell often is a 2 vs 3 matchup that opens up Corner 3's. Btw, Dallas shoots not only the most 3's, they also shoote the most open Corner 3's… and the Luka/Powell P&R (as well as the Luka Lively P&R to a lesser degree) is a huge reason why.
And if it comes to offense and defense… Dallas for some reason is really bad in the 1st half defensively (Team DRtg 121), but really good in the 2nd half (Team Drtg 103). So they actually can defend and more important adjust during games. The offense is great all game btw… So they are more then an offense only team.
Would like to see analysis reflected upon the analytics, because the data doesn’t really cash out much of this analysis
Mavs about to blow them out
If anyone can beat the mavs its dennis schroder.
