The Houston Rockets are BACK…

Following another rough year, the Houston Rockets had an eventful offseason that most people were skeptical of. They signed Dillon Brooks and Fred VanVleet to big deals and followed this up by bringing in a new head coach in Ime Udoka. Nine games into the season, it seems like the Rockets have reestablished themselves as a good team. Behind the play of their new additions, the solid play of Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr, and a breakout year from Alperen Sengun, the Houston Rockets are seemingly back. Let’s talk about it.

  1. Defense is sustainable. The Rockets aren't even running Ime's system 100% yet. Check back in at January. 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

  2. Obviously Udoka is a different tier coach than Silas, and obviously the rockets sucked last year, but you shittin on Silas too much man. Adding 2 vets will do wonders to your team, especially if one is the primary ball handler and the other is a psychopathic alpha dog. KPJ is out of the picture and that entirely shifts the dynamic from a bunch of young dogs tryna eat and compete against each other to vets establishing a pecking order and defining roles.

  3. Houston signings aren’t bad considering they had to spend money to reach the minimum salary spent. Their window doesn’t even open until these contracts are up

  4. it's probably more sustainable than what the Jazz and Portland did early last season. they added some vets like Van Fleet and Jeff Green who've won a championship and know winning basketball, and a tough guy in Brooks who also did a lot of winning in Memphis during the regular season. They'll probably regress to a play-in team, but that's still a huge success in the eyes of many. Let's see how their depth is when guys get injured and miss time because that's bound to happen throughout the season.

  5. I'm still not convinced taking minutes and shots away from your young guys to fight for a play in spot is the right move long term… but a serious coach was definetly needed

  6. I'm tired of ime praise. He played drop on gs… And he's not the reason rockets are winning. Sengun is. He's legit baby joker wtf. All lbj fans underrated Dillon and you see his value. He used to clamp Curry and Dame. Fred great role player not pg tho. Thompson and the young guys.

It's not ime, the roster has improved which helped culture and they essentially gave the ball to joker

  7. The scary part is that amen Thompson hasn't played yet and if he's anything like his brother defensively it's gonna be a issue for allot of teams

  8. I only watched this video because I like watching other people realize what I’ve always known about the Rockets. The Houston Rockets will have home court advantage in the playoffs.

  9. The Rockets spent all of that money because they had to. Under the new CBA you lose 90% of the money you dont spend.

  10. As a rockets fan, I love watching a 20 minute video from an objective NBA fan on our success. I feel as if we've been severely underrepresented in media largely because we have had nothing to talk about before now. However, SENGUN IS THE FRANCHISE!!!

  11. What you don't understand is it was a 3 year rebuilding plan. That's why they call them tankathons. It's not that their bad but they want to get top 3 lottery picks for 3 straight years.

  12. Good to see them break through. I had high hopes for them entering the decade with Green and Şengün. Wish they coulda landed Brook this year, too. Just for the big man veteran leadership to complement VanVleet's vet presence and Şengün's development.
