I sat right behind the bench last night (work colleague had great seats and couldn’t make it and I lucked into them – be kind to your coworkers and things like this happen). My takeaways from the game:
1) Basketball players are huge and might be a different species. Kornet is an alien who played big minutes last night.
2) Tatum has some type of hand issue still. He rests it against a towel. (I have no idea if this was mentioned during the broadcast, but he definitely has a hand issue.)
3) This team really supports each other. When the 76ers made the run to get back in the game, the players were talking to each other on the bench and being supportive.
4) President Stevens was nearby in the stands. At one point he was upset (as upset as he gets) about the gameplay on the defensive end. It was enjoyable watching him as his brain was churning.
5) Horford is the man. He was completely locked in last night. When he was on the stationary bike staying loose during the game, you could see it in his eyes that he was all-in last night.
6) After the game, as D-White was heading to the tunnel, Coach Mazzulla ran up behind and kind of jumped on his back making D-White smile. Cool moment.
7) Hauser is working his ass off to do whatever he can do to make things work on defense. Coaches are in his ear and he is listening and responding.
8) Fast PP was struggling. He was down on himself a couple of times during the game, especially on D when the Sixers made some plays on him – he was showing it on his face.
9) Brown mentioned it in an interview recently, but KP really is a kidder. He had fun with the crowd at certain points before the game.
10) Highlight of the night. After the win as Tatum was coming off the court, there were a bunch of C’s fan hanging by the tunnel and we started an MVP chant. Remember a few seasons ago when near the end of a blowout the crowd started chanting for Tacko Fall to come into the game and Stevens waved up for the crowd to get louder and then called Tacko in, well Tatum did the same wave as he walked to the tunnel. He didn’t shy away from it and embraced it. Very cool.

I guess we’re going into year 3 of Tatums wrist being an issue that progressively worsens throughout the year and holds him back in the playoffs. Finding it harder and harder to believe that surgery wouldn’t make sense.
Awesome reporting man! I hope PP keeps working through his slump and doesn’t get too down on himself, he still helps the team win and makes smart plays, hustles like crazy and can slice up defense with his handles and rebound in the trees.
It’s honestly really cool to hear such detailed observations…and I’ll be honest, mentioning Tacko and Brad gave me the feelings a little, that was such a dope moment from brad.
Hope you get to more games and post more observations! Put chams and woj out of business, brother!
Thanks man! How much stick did Horford get from the fans? His kiss off after his fourth three felt really cathartic at the end
I didn’t know it was possible to love Tatum more.
Great pic, King Tatum and his people!
Was it his left wrist or his hand? He probably needs to ice the wrist as a precaution. I think the good news is he isn’t wearing the brace and thumb guard.
Bad Man OP – claims he has random thoughts, all of them are celtics basketball related
Dude this sub needs to send one member to sit courtside at every game, this report was better than any sports journalist.
Side note on NBA players being aliens: I once sat courtside (!!) at a Raptors/Rockets game, and I will never forget the thunderous sound and vibration of PJ Tucker running by. The man is made of titanium.
A random thought I had while watching this is what if Bill Burr went to a Philly sports game any sports team Sixers flyers doesn’t matter when he get booed to shit for what he did to Philly the way he verbally violated them for like 10 minutes
I saw Kornet at the store once and was in awe of his height. Fun story. I immediately recognized him and let the man shop but I was hyped
Man I had managed to stop worrying about JT’s hand, reading this has brought it back 💀
Fun fact, If you are seven feet tall there’s a 17% chance you’re an nba player.
Ya man I’ll never forget when I went to my first game back in 2010 and I saw Shaq in person, still can’t get over how massive of a human all basketball players are, but especially him.
Pulitzer level Cs article right here. Good stuff.
NBA players are unreal in stature. It’s alien like.
Met Big Baby at a store I used to work at, he was shopping for baby stuff. The guy had a hoodie on like he wasn’t the biggest mofo to ever walk in the store. To think someone that tall and strong could move like they do.
Huge mofos.
Funny you should mention that, Kornet is the blue alien from space jam.
Aye I was at the same game 🔥🔥 So much fun especially seeing Philly fans cry
